Rashan "LLL" Gary (DL Green Bay Packers)

If you were a budding professional football player, what exactly would make you want to trust your money with this guy?

His mother did a decent job in negotiating his commitment to tsun, I'll give her that but in terms of NFL contracts, financial acumen, network etc....what exactly is the value prop here?

I think I could open a company that provides emotional support for men that have gone through life with a foot long cock and just barely be as unqualified to give advice as this clown is.

The article suggests it's a loophole to keep more of his rookie money (1st contract is basically predetermined = no agent needed) and count his agents cut as his business' salary.
In that light it's not a horrible idea (think its mom's idea... she seems like a loophole kinda lady w/ how she got cash out of Michigan for her son's commitment) ... but then his people go on at length about how he's serious... empty posturing for the IRS?

"Ian Clarke will negotiate Gary's contract and will be paid as an employee of the agency instead of getting a percentage."

Doesn't sound like Ian is a very good negotiator...

The 1 client they found is a DB out of Bowling Green that'll be lucky to be picked up as a FA. Kickback to play client? No other agents care because he's a long shot to ever sign a contract?

I'm picturing Gary and his mom negotiating with an experienced NFL front office going something like this

Makes sense to me. Get your money before teams realize you're a fraud and don't give you a second contact.

Right. It seems pretty clear to me that Gary ended up at scum because he didn't want to do the work. You know, the whole "country club" thing.... the fact that his career was only remarkable for his distinct lack of improvement from the first day he stepped on campus. Now he's got to do it for a living? He's probably thinking "no fuckin thanks" but Mom's still got checks to write, so...

I really enjoy when these harbingers of doom as recruits turn into NFL sideshow gimmicks. Bring on the Peppers and Garys every day and twice on the 4th Saturday of November. The more the merrier.

Chucklefucks.
I still think it’s pretty hilarious that Daxton Hill tried to abandon them, was rejected by Bama, went crawling back, and is now their new savior again with no questions asked.

There are definitely zero red flags and unlike every other top recruit they’ve landed in the last decade, I’m sure this time the results will match the hype.

The whole Daxton Hill as savior confuses the hell out of me. There have been some excellent safety's over the years... Ronnie Lott... Ed Reed... Sean Taylor... etc. Not one of those guys "carried" the team. Safety just isn't a game changing position. I mean, I'd sure rather have an Ed Reed or Shawn Taylor man the spot than Jordan Kovacs or whatever buckets of dried shit they've been rolling out there recently... but.. neither Taylor not Reed turn that secondary around from what we saw in the last couple games last year. Sure, maybe they take away a couple plays.. but.. that's about it. And, if you're wondering why I abandoned any mention of Lott after the first mention it's for the simple fact that any motherfucker who cuts off his own finger to play in a game isn't gonna go the 'country club' route. Ever. That's not to say Taylor or Reed would have either, but Lott? Hells. No.

I think the Daxton Hill thing is along the lines of Mississippi Jesus from the previous year. They have been at this one forever.

First, they rationalize it down to one singular thing that caused the most recent loss in The Game. This works much like BWI with ref losses/"it was an impactful call".

Example;
"The only reason we lost The Game in 2017 because of one terrible incompletion."
  1. Get a QB who can be imagined to easily make that throw
  2. Pretend everything will play out exactly like that again next year
  3. Profit
So this year they have convinced themselves they lost only because #28 couldn't cover the OSU WR's. (DFBIA logic chain)
  1. #28 was a Safety (because safety covers slot)
  2. Daxton Hill is a Safety
  3. Daxton Hill is better than #28
  4. Replace #28 with Daxton Hill
  5. Profit

My memories of Malik Hooker during the 2016 season disagree that safeties can't be game changing. Also, just because I want to post this photo:
