TORONTO - Rapper “50 Cent” has abruptly canceled a concert in Toronto, Canada after the rap sensation was promoted as “71 Cent” due to the Canadian exchange rate. 50 Cent’s manager told us the rapper is furious that his name was changed in television, radio and newspaper ads.
Claude Gagne, a Toronto concert promoter, said he had no choice but to be accurate with the numbers. “I told 50 Cent’s manager that the situation was beyond my control,” said Gagne. “That’s just where the exchange rate is right now. Who knows, by next month, he could be 68 Cent or 74 Cent.”
While 50 has cancelled the remainder of his Canadian apperances, he plans to replace the performances with more US dates, to be announced later this week.
