Wow, rookie Matt Moore is making his second career start in Game 1 for the Rays. Of course, his first career start was at Yankee Stadium and he whiffed 11 batters. Curious to see how he handles the pressure today.

I can't wait either. Not sure if it's a mistake starting him over Niemann or not... I was hoping they would use him out of the bullpen like they used Price 2008. The guy is a stud though just hope it's not too early. Moore, Shields, Hellickson and Price... if Moore comes through and Price gets his head out of his ass that's a tough a tough four to get through.

From what Maddon said this is the only start he has planned for Moore. Shields, Hellickson and Price will be on regular rest after today, so I suspect you will see Moore out of the pen down the road.

Starting Moore today is looking like a genius move, Rays up 8-0 in the 5th. Maddon really seems to get the most out of his roster.
