Newark Ohio grad Derek Holland gets his first major league start tonight for the Rangers.

HOUSTON - The string of good news started last month for Newark native Derek Holland when he was called up to the Texas Rangers.




The latest bit on whats been a whirlwind five weeks came on Thursday when the Rangers coaching staff told him he would be making his first major-league start tonight against Houston.

Yep.

It's a weird rule but yeah the guy got a save. 3 innings in relief that ends the game gives him a save.
