someone do me a favor... look up and post pete carolls record, then look up and post larry cokers record...

Coker is 53-9-0 (.855), all at Cryami.
Carroll is 54-10-0 (.844), all at USC.

The huge difference is that PC took a relatively shit program and turned it completely around (6-6 his first year and has gone 50-4-0 since), whereas Coker took over an 11-1 team from Butch Davis, and after two great first years has gone 30-10-0 since.

PC's team is currently #3 in the country whilst Coker's is unranked.

Mark Richt has an out clause in his contract for Miami

According to this newspaper (Altanta Constitution-Journal) he doesn't have an "out clause":

Mark Richt has no escape clause in his contract with UGA that would allow him to leave the school for another job.

Contrary to an Internet report, there is no language in Georgia football coach Mark Richt's contract that would allow him to leave for Miami, his alma mater. If Richt opts to terminate his eight-year contract on or before Dec. 31, 2010, he must pay the school's athletics association the amount of his salary and compensation package for each year remaining on the contract. Richt is due no less than $1.7 million annually.

If I'm Miami I try and bring Schiano(sp) back from Rutgers. You can't impress me anymore than he does by winning at that suck-hole of a school.

Of course the U might be a step down from Rutgers right now so maybe he wouldn't take it if offered. :wink2:

I'd refuse that before it even got on the table. Surely he isn't that stupid...

I don't know that I agree. I mean, yeah, I don't like Cryami as much as anyone, but he's friendly with the Pres, the job is in a nice sunny location and so on.

In fact, he may well be the perfect fit. Their fans won't like his style, as he'd no doubt build a running team and not be flashy. But, he also won't put up with bad image BS, and Miami needs that badly - some discipline. Again, their fans seem to like the "bad boy" image, but I would seriously doubt the administration does.

Alverez turned Wisky from a nobody in to a team to take seriously. Miami already has a reputation of "take seriously" (recent troubles notwithstanding) I guess I'm not prepared to say he'd get the program to the "promised land" every year, but he'd always field a team that was respectable and which did it the 'right way'

That said, I seem to recall some of his earlier Wisky players not being of the highest of charecter (Brent Moss) so....

Good points. I guess it's show me the money time in that case. If it were me, I'd rather be in an AD makes more than the coach situation, than a coach makes more than the AD situation, if I was the AD of course...
