well... looks like I'll be joining you guys on the quest to quit... I had my last one this afternoon. I need a hug :)
So what made you decide to quit Loky? Let me give you a little bit of advice that seems to be working for me. Have a lot of hard candy, wintergreen lifesavers work well for me, but you could use anything. Gum didn't help that much but chewing on a straw constantly did. Good luck bro!

LoKy.. you have lots of incentive... two of them bite your ankles every day... and those same two will be able to outrun Dad by the time they're 7 if you don't quit soon... you'll never catch them...

Scarlet.. I thought you were going to the hypnotist today?

Good luck to anyone trying to quit. I'm glad I never smoked and had to go through trying to break the habit. I have two coworkers that quit at the same time about four years ago. The one has since tried to quit two or three more times and only seems to make it a week. The other quit cold turkey. Granted, he put on lots of weight, but he has not smoked in years.

NJ I was going to but I really don't have the money for it. I am doing really well though, I haven't had one since 7:30 Monday evening and I even went out drinking last night and had no problem. I did have to make sure that I had a couple of packs of Lifesavers to [strike]suck[/strike] chew on.

Starburst helps me the most. That, and getting into shape. I don't want to get fat(ter), you know. Seriously, I've started running, and it's amazing how much better I feel, especially right after running, and first thing when waking up in the morning.

No more smoky treats for me, how about you Scarlet and LoKy?

Those real tough cravings have even went away. Don't get me wrong I still crave one but not like it was monday and tuesday. Like I said in my earlier post, I drank from about 5:30 yesterday evening till about 11:00 and never had a cigarette.

FKA, where have you been running at with the weather like it has been the past couple of days? I'm gonna start as soon as it get's nice outside. I'll probably have to walk for a couple of weeks just to get my body used to doing physical activities again and work my way up to jogging and runing. By this summer I hope to be able to do 40 yard sprints with my little brother to help him with football.

Dude, are you crazy? It's frickin' freezing out there....nah, my in-laws recently moved to Cbus from Indiana, and are living in an apartment while their house is being built. As such, half of their possessions are being stored in my basement. One of those possessions just happens to be a sweet-ass treadmill. I'm not a fan of treadmills, but it really is helping me to quit. I still have mild cravings, and I think you'll find you'll get hit harder in the next couple of days, but I'm doing well.

Best of luck... altho that is the exact type situation that makes the hypnosis work... when you have to truly sacrifice something to achieve your desired goal... if it was an easy trade off, the probability of success diminishes... When I did it, the doctor set the price at the most I could afford (which wasn't much.. and he certainly didn't make any money)... but rather to ensure I was committed...

NJ... you're exactly right. I've never smoked in front of them because the last thing I need is them immitating that.... they are the big incentive to quit.

I did have 1 today. Like AKAK said before... the hardest part for me is in my car and I'm in it all day going to appointments. I'm going to try to start singing to my self instead of smoking :)
