I ordered a product online worth $12 ($8 for shipping). The company I ordered it from screwed up and sent me 2. I paid through Paypal so they have no way to charge me for more than I have already paid, but they just sent me an email after they caught the problem and want to send me a UPS slip to ship it back. First of all that's only about a $4 gain on their end after they pay to have it shipped back so it hardly seems worth it.

My question is do I have to ship the product back or are they SOL depending on how I'm feeling? Do they have any legal recourse if I don't ship back the product? After thinking about it I could sell the extra on on ebay and possibly make some money. What would you guys do in this situation?
 
I would keep it. You never know how durable those things are. You could be pumping it up, and pump too hard and it breaks before your penis got as big as you were hoping it would. Then you would have a spare. :wink2:

Just tell them you already used it, they probably will not want it back.

I'd have them send you the UPS slip and send it back on their dime. I doubt they can come after you... is $12 worth the hassel they are bound to give you if you refuse to return the item? I'd send it back.

If you keep it... they could bill you for it I guess... and then if you don't pay they could (theortically... thought highly unlikey) send a collections agancy after you... over the 4 freaking dollars... just send them their crap back...

Of course... if you do need the spare pump... you could probably offer to pay them the 12 bucks and not have to pay shipping and you'd have two....

Of course its probably the soundtrack to Guys and Dolls and you are wondering why you got drunk, decided to act like a showtune loving homo and order one in the first place.

I won't even need the one I bought by next week so I should just ship them both back next week on their dime and ask for a refund. :p
I'm still going to use both of them and just ship the extra back next week if UPS comes for it.
I would say what it is but watching you guys guess is the highlight of my day.

The only thing I know about this kind of the law is "Possession is 9/10 of the Law." You have possession of the blow-up doll, so they have to prove that it's theirs. Assuming it's a real business, and not some doof selling stuff out of his garage, they have paperwork showing that you only bought one. I think that that would be enough to show that the extra blow-up doll is not yours, and you need to send it back.

But I think that because it's their mistake that you got an extra, they have to pay to rectify it - they have to pay for the return shipping. Is it worth it, anymore? Will they spend any money to get their $4 back? I doubt it. I don't know what the consequences of not sending it back if they want it, though. Maybe they have a midget break into your house and pee on your toilet seat.

YOU paid $8 for shipping, that does not mean that it is costing THEM $8 for return shipping. they probably made more off of you on the shipping than on the "merchandise".

Of course, you should return it, but use it first! :)

BTW, 12 bucks is a pretty good deal for the entire Richard Simmons "Sweatin' with the Oldies" collection featuring Harvey Firestein and Paul Lynde. Enjoy!

This thread is worth a "bump" just to see some of the questions/replies that were on Buckeye Planet back in 2005......Unfortunately exhawg never did say what the product was or if he sent it back......Maybe he'll read this and post an update....... :slappy:
