Question about Skull Session

daddyphatsacs

Let the cards fall...
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had tips for Skull Session. I am taking my two daughters (2, 5 yrs) down on Saturday and was hoping that some of the others on this board have experience taking kiddos. Mainly, I was just curious to see how early I should get there without getting there too early, if that makes sense. I'd appreciate any info that you think would be beneficial. Thanks!!!

Having been there in the past, the earlier the better. Game time being 3:30, noon is a safe bet. Everybody wants to see TBDBITL up close, not to mention UFB & the boys. I haven't taken kids there before, but since you have more than one person to think about, better safe than sorry.......just sayin'.

I'm coming to the Iowa game, and plan on doing the same thing as you. Anyway, hope you have a great time. Everybody should see the Skull Session at least once.

GO BUCKS!!! :urban2:

I took my 10 year old daughter to her 1st Skull Session/Buckeyes game 1st game of season two years ago. It was in the 90's that day, and almost unbearably hot in St. Johns Arena. She was ready to leave after about 10 minutes. She was ready to leave the game after the 1st quarter. She won't be going back again any time soon!

Went to Skull Session for the Buffalo game last week. Game start was 12 so it should have started at 10. We sat down at 9:45 and about 30 seconds later the band came in followed immediately by the team. And to confirm what others have said, it was ungodly hot in St. John due to the outside temp and number of people. If you can sit in front of one of the stairwells there is sometimes some air movement but not always guaranteed. There just isn't great air movement in there and if it's hot outside, it will be hot inside.

Skull Session start time was bumped up 15 mins beginning last season. 2 hours & 15 mins before game time.

That what I thought but I visited OSU's website prior to going to the game and they stated 2 hours so I wasn't sure if the website hadn't been updated or it had reverted. Was def. 2 hours and 15 minutes prior.

I could never see me bringing one - let alone two of my grand(very)daughters(ages 2,4 & 7) to a game, if I lived closer with out a doubt I would take them to just the Skull session More power to you but they will not like it and you(and others around you) will not be able to enjoy the game. Wait a couple of years and they will remember it better, my daughter's first game was when she was 12 - she loved every minute of the experience!. As grnvllbuk stated above - it gets pretty hot in St. Johns early in the year - the upper rows especially!

God, you guys are so lucky :( I've lived in Georgia pretty much my whole life, I went back to Ohio for a year in the early 90's, but I it was during my basketball and hockey phase, so I never even thought about going to a game when I was there and still havent been to one and Im 30 :(. The few times I've been able to get the time off it'll take to drive up and watch and can't get tickets without ripping my soul out and going bankrupt. Hell, I even work with a women who has two son's that are alum, and I still can't get tickets for a good price :( One day im just going to snapp, sell my car, and work it out when I get back  I just wanna see my boy's play SOOOOO bad.
