Here's the problem. As my Aunt has experienced, they like to pull random extra searches/checks. Kinda like the airport will on people going through security.
My Aunt has said sometimes they don't even check. Sometimes they want everything and she's had her car searched. So you never know.
Its always best not to go on a previous experience of someone else. Because you never know what they may decide to want when you come up there.

In this situation...no
Seeing how they change policies and rules all the time, I would think it would be best to play it safe.
take your drivers license and a birth certificate... you'll be fine.
Starting in 2007 you will need a passport for travel to Mexico and Canada (that starts 1/1/07).
If the bachlor party is in 2006, you'll be just fine... (I go to Canada and Mexico "frequently", and have family near the mexican boarder... trust me, you'll be fine this year)...
Get a passport, you'll need it in the future (and it's good to have in general)...
I don't know if they are requiring passports yet, but I have heard that they are going to add that requirement within the next year.

That is the tricky part, the U.S. is forcing the passport issue as the countries don't require it for entry.
There is a website somewhere about this, I did all the homework as I am going to Mexico for my honeymoon in 6 weeks.

My wife, aunt, uncle and cousin were all in Mexico in early Feb... a drivers liceanse was all that was required (1/1/07 will be a different story).
What area of Mexico will you visit? Great place, cheap, cheap, cheap![]()
