People I know from up there pronounce it KAY-diz. Maybe we are saying the same thing?

I don't think so. My wife's from the general area (about 20 miles east of there) and I've always heard KAH-diz. We pass right through it on the way to her folks' house, maybe I'll stop and ask next time.

I guess I'm lucky enough not to know anyone from there, so I don't know what they call it. :lol:

LOL! This brings back memories for me. We lived near Boston for a while. House hunting was the funniest thing when the realtor would pronounce the city names we were always like...what? Where's that? :biggrin:
