Quaker Steak & Lube...ever been?

JoJaBuckeye

First we take Michigan--then the whole world!
We have one in Georgia now..first I've seen or heard of this place since I ate at the original one in Sharon, PA, back in the 70s.

I was working a job on my Dad's crew at Sharon Steel. We drove by and decided to try it out. It was packed every night we went. Awesome food, good price. It's the first place I ever had shrimp served with a candle-lit burner to dip into the butter sauce.

Nice concept and all...but the little hole-in-the-wall joint at Arbor Place Mall down here simply does not reflect the original at all.

Fantastic wings, been to the one in Sharon, the one in Erie and the one in the Cleveland area. Yes, the Sharon one is by far the best. Really interesting atmosphere as well. I don't have a real good memory of the one in Sharon, but been to the one in Erie several times. They have cars hanging on the ceilings as well as different motorcycles hanging as well. It's pretty cool to sit underneath a 70's corvette while you eat.

I like QSL. It is good, and it is reasonably priced.

The wings are decent, but the sauces are nowhere near what you get at BWs.

That being said the meat on the wings at BWs is skimpy at best, and the other food there isn't so great.

Used to love driving from Kent to Sharon back in college for the $7.95 all you can eat Tuesdays... man i felt horrible sometimes the next morning.

If there was a place here in MD with wings half as good, I'd be a much happier man.

Just went their today(Sharon) . Thay have a lunch buffet with all you can eat wings. Today they had garlic and ranch available. I guess if you like wings they're ok but you need to eat 20 to get full. I'd just rather have a couple of thighs and a breast.

I just don't love the place like everyone else around here does.

I liked their wings...all you can eat wing night is huge. I'd give the nod to Quaker Steak over BW's now due to the fact that BW's keeps raising its prices, something like $.35 per wing, which imo is outrageous. A couple things I was disappointed with Quaker Steak was a lot of the wings were tiny, like 2/3 the size of a normal wing. I didn't like the fact that they only brought out 5 at a time either. When I'm in the mood for wings, it takes me about 2 seconds to strip the bone.
