Im sorry guys but OSU has a goal each year of:

BCS Bowl
10+ Wins
Beat Michigan
Win the Conference
Hunt for an NT

Fine, so those are the goals. The discussion began with what it would take for TP to be considered one of tOSU best QBs, correct?

So how many tOSU QBs have met those goals in multiple seasons?

QB Name........vs TSUN...B10-Titles...NC Games...BCS Bowls
Tippy Dye.........3-0.......1...........0-0........0-0
Frank Kremblas....2-1.......1...........1-0........1-0 (Apache is smiling seeing this line)
Rex Kern..........2-1.......3...........1-1........1-1 (would have had 3rd under today's BCS)
Corny Greene......2-0-1.....3...........0-2........1-2
Art Schlichter....2-2.......2...........0-1........0-1 ('80 Fiesta wasn't top tier)
Bobby Hoying......1-2.......1...........0-0........0-0
Joe Germaine......1-2.......2...........0-0........2-1
Craig Krenzel.....2-1.......1...........1-0........2-0
Troy Smith........3-0.......2...........0-1........1-1
Terrelle Pryor....3-0.......3...........0-0........1-1 (3rd coming)

So he's already one of only 3 Buckeye QBs to have 3 wins against TSUN, and also one of only 3 to lead the team to 3 Big Ten Titles. If he wins 1 more BCS Bowl game (either this year or next), he'll be one of 3 Buckeye QBs with 2 BCS Bowl wins, and he'll be the only QB in 2 of those categories (and he'll be in all 3). So I'd say that 1 more BCS Bowl win places him clearly among the best tOSU QBs ever, regardless of what the measuring quidelines are.

I agree that a Heisman and/or a BCS Championship will cement his legacy, and that without either one something will be missing from his career. But his accomplishments already place him among the best Buckeye Qbs ever, even going just by the criteria you established as Buckeye team goals.

And statistically he'll be in a class by himself after next season.

Assuming we win a BCS game next year, I will make the assumption that we are Big 10 champs, since it seems as if the conf championship game loser gets left out of the BCS. So TP will win 4 big ten titles, 4 wins over Michigan, 3 BCS games, all time leader in yardage, all time leading passer and he will be looked at as good not great?!?!?!?

Maybe the college football world is right, Ohio State fans are idiots.

Sorry, the past three Michigan team were very, very bad and our defense was very, very good during those years. I think Steve Bellisorry could have had lead the team in wins versus them.

Four wins against Michigan is still four wins against Michigan. Michigan's fans don't discount the times they beat us when we weren't at our best, so why should we reciprocate? Last time I checked, they still count their wins against us in 1988 (when we were 4-6-1), in 1990 (when we were 7-4-1), and in 1999 (when we were 6-6).

Technically Pryor is 1-0 as a starting QB in BCS bowl games, not 1-1. He's 0-1 as a starting WR in BCS games

I'm aware of that - but TP gets credit for leading the team to the bowl game, and he also had more total yards than Boeckman did in that game. To not count that game would be unfair to him in this type of chart.

His official 30-4 record as a starter does reflect him not starting that bowl game.

I also credited Joe Germaine for a Big Ten Title in 1996 although he shared time with Stanley Jackson.

I disagree. Just by saying it's a Michigan team it does not mean it is a great team. The three Michigan teams he played were a little better than Purdue or Indiana. We don't put the QB's records against Purdue in comparing great OSU QBs. I would rank the Michigan teams that Troy faced as much better teams.

How long have you been watching the rivalry? Just curious.

The 05 & 07 teams were pretty lousy.
