QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Some are comparing Pryor's development to Barkley's and saying TP should be further along. That's a a mistake as Pryor is a completely different type of QB learning to be more pocket oriented and read defenses. He has more to learn about being an NFL style pocket QB.
Pryor doesn't, as of now, have the benefit of a great offensive line and veteran play makers around him to help.(like Barkley) More is on Pryor's shoulders to make plays in the system. Until he has more help, Pryor will be under the gun more. We are just gonna have to live with the occasional mistake. And be thrilled by his athleticism.

Its a ridiculous comparison. Carroll was afraid to let Barkley make any dangerous throws. He was only asked to manage the game, which to his credit he did. Forcier had a much more impressive game by far than Barkley. Pryor will come back strong and will be huge for us this season.

I think Terrelle has all the physical talent in the world but I'm not sure that QB would be his best position to succeed in the NFL. He needs to master the fundamentals of the position and drastically improve his footwork. Too many of his passes either sail over the heads of his receivers or he throws them into the ground. I know that he wants to learn the Pro-offense to prepare him for the NFL but I think he's suited more for the spread. He'd be a stud at TE for years in the NFL if he concentrated on being one.

1 thing people are not realizing is that pryor is still young! all that attention is going toward barkley but really there was more pressure on tp to make plays and to win this game,it was do or die for the team. barkley has alot of veterans and a solid oline around him. We all just need to sit tight and understand that hes gonna get better everytime we see him play and hes just getting more exp under his belt. he might still need to work on things but we got some good film on this game and stuff that can be fixed !!:oh:

Agree completely.

What makes today especially challenging is that people are comparing TP's performance yesterday to another Big T1e1n QB, this one a freshman.

As if Notre Ame and U$C's defenses are anywhere near the same caliber.

Am I the only one who has noticed that Terrelle has looked completely different then last year thus far. All the pressure on this kid made him absolutly nervous as hell last week, anyone could see it coming into the game. When it comes down to it on the field, he is doubting himself, and it's crushing him.
The play that sticks out to me is him throwing off his back foot thinkinking he was going to get hit, when no one was closing in on him quite yet.

He need's to settle down, meditate or whatever, but he has to control himself. I know he can do it, he's only going to improve as the seasons picks up. The nervs need to shake off.

I don't see it as a pressure issue at all. He's trying to break away from his tendencies and habits. He's young and still raw as a passer. He's also a smart kid and maybe over thinking a bit, but I see that as different than simple nerves.

We need to highlight these posts. By the time all is said and done with TP, he will be a legendary player for the Buckeyes. This young man is a sophomore in college and had a rough game, by our standards. He is truly a once a decade athlete for us and will mature and lead this team to greatness. I will enjoy his maturation and enjoy seeing him win a national championship in Scarlet and Gray.

Also, imagine the impact he has on recruits and the appeal of playing in Columbus. He is that type of personality. They can keep Barkley and Forcier, TP is our QB.

Even JT said it took Vince Young 4 years in the Texas system to become what he became. I think that TP has a better head on his shoulder than VY. I still think though that his position in the NFL is at TE. His footwork and mechanics may be too much for him to overcome at the next level.

I agree, Forcier pretty much had carte blanche on the field yesterday and was able to beat a good Notre Dame team. I don't think he could've done it at the shoe last night.
