Ohio State football: Tressel expects biggest leap from Pryor this season

Jim Tressel thinks Terrelle Pryor will be ready to let it go this year.Of course, one of the most popular topics today was Jim Tressel's sophomore quarterback.
Everyone anticipates Terrelle Pryor and this sophomore class emerging as the leaders on a team that lost 28 seniors and three juniors, and Tressel can see how that could happen.
"I think it will be more natural for him to lead from this point on," Tressel said of Pryor. "It was a little bit more difficult when he was thrust into the role he didn't expect in the fall, or maybe we didn't expect in the fall."
But Tressel said leadership comes from doing it on the field. And Pryor has room to grow there. The biggest area would be what most fans saw last year - Pryor's reluctance to let the ball go at times. That's a good mistake to make in Tressel's book, but Pryor can find a better balance.
"He was only going to throw it if he was sure. And I'd rather he'd err on that side rather than just, oh, I'll just throw it," Tressel said. "But to be really good you have to be pretty sure and (think) I'll let it go because it might be on time. When you have only seen those coverages a few times in your life and you don't even know our things, it's not like it's branded in your brain yet. You're going to be slightly hesitant."

A monster year seems likely. The term "Sophomore Slump" is often heard because it is often the case. All indications are that TP will avoid that fate. Here's hoping that bigger and stronger and more experienced will lead to something special.
I don't doubt the possibility, but neither am I counting on it.

Terrelle Pryor...I just had to say whats up to him. He had his yankee hat cocked backwards and to the side. Very cool and nice dude willing to just talk for like 10 minutes. I can't wait to see him tear up the defenses this fall Go Bucks!!!!
