Jeannette beats Karns City - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

For the first time this season, Jeannette's football team was held under 40 points. It didn't matter.
That's because for the 13th time, No. 1 Jeannette invoked the mercy rule on an opponent, defeating previously undefeated Karns City (12-1), 35-6, Saturday in a PIAA Class AA quarterfinal game at Clarion University's Memorial Stadium.
In the process, Jeannette reached 770 points for the season, breaking the state record set last year by Southern Columbia (755).

I don't think Pryor will base his decision off of one game, but that was just ugly. Now he knows what happens at WVU when a determined, tenacious defense plays them for a whole game and never lets up. That's two games on the season they had no business losing.

At Ohio State, he'll play much tougher foes both in and out of conference, and he'll learn to prevail and win at the high est level. He's a smart kid, he'll realize this eventually if he hasn't already

Trick question?

I don't think 1 game will change TP's mind, but it may contribute to the many factors he's considering, even if only subconsciously.

I think our chances with Terrelle are based more on OUR team, our coaches and the other '08 recruits.

No it's not a trick question, as Pete Carroll is an exceptional coach who had a bad game. Rich Rodriguez is not a great coach, but he's not a scrub.

Back to Mr. Pryor. Just commit already bud, so I can hate you even longer.

CLARION, Pa. -- Terrelle Pryor has another fan.
"He's every bit what they say he is," Karns City coach Ed Conto said of Jeannette's senior quarterback. "I have never seen a guy hurdle people like that or break tackles like that. ... He just does things that other high school football players can't."
What Pryor did yesterday was construct another chapter to his already legend-like status in Western Pennsylvania high school football lore.
He threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 101 yards and a score and vehemently stamped out any chances Karns City had as the Jayhawks (14-0) coasted to a 35-6 victory against the Gremlins (12-1) in a PIAA Class AA quarterfinal at Clarion University.
Jeannette advances to a semifinal against Wilmington (13-1), which defeated Bishop McCort Friday in a quarterfinal.

I don't post here ever, but since I saw the game yesterday firsthand (from the Karns City sidelines) I think it's appropriate. Hands down, this kid is the best high school football player that I have ever seen including Maurice Clarett who previously held that distinction.

He ran through defenders like they were nothing, had amazing breakaway speed, great pocket presence, and great touch on every throw. This kid is the real deal and I can't wait to see him in scarlet and gray. Go Bucks!

Not Pryor


Gatorade selects a player of the year for each state and one national player of the year. Surprising to many, Jeannette's Terrelle Pryor was not selected as Pennsylvania's player of the year, despite a superb season and being ranked the No. 1 player in the country by a few scouting services.
Instead, the award went to Bethlehem Liberty linebacker Brendan Beal. A University of Florida recruit, Beal had 113 tackles this season after transferring to Liberty from a school in New Jersey.

Awards aren't everything but Pryor got riped off. Most average Linebackers can get 113 tackles. The things Pryor has been doing on a football field are just unreal. Does anyone think this has anything to do with where Beal is going to school.

Especially when you consider they have mercied everyone and he only basicaly plays the first half, apparently.
