One thing we would gain is the dual threat capacity, other than that I'm not seeing much difference unless the talent around him elevates his game.

Is that how you all see it, coming into a group with better talent, and that it will elevate his play?

See: Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, Michael Penix - change in atmosphere and talent makes a difference.

Howard was being chased by other major programs (especially USC, say what you want about Riley but he knows QBs) , McCord's best option was Syracuse. I think that's all you need to know when comparing the 2.

Although I think it is weird he went there, I don't know if it was his "best option." Part of it was being closer to home and I think it was a knee jerk emotional reaction given his going to the portal so soon. But he is young and they do these things.

The o line that played in every game until the Cottton bowl was good enough to beat Penn State and Notre Dame. Then someone got the bright idea to switch the two most important positions, center and left tackle. But that doesn’t explain why Keinholz had to have his RB tell him what to do. That’s not on keinholz. That’s on the coaches.

Well, it most definitely wasn't because of the podcast where the starting center said we only practiced 6 times leading up to the bowl game.

That's true. I think the staff was willing to sacrifice the game to see if that experiment would work and audition some new faces. It was a catastrophe, but if they put players back in their natural positions and the Bama center works out, we could have decent OL play next year for Howard to play behind.

This, to me, is the most searing indictment of Corey Dennis. I'm fine with the 'Ryan Day works with the 1, Dennis works with the back ups' narrative, but when Dennis's guy went in the offense became non functional. That's on Dennis.
