You decided I'm taking it personally. I'm not....I'm just calling out shitty fan behavior on a message board. I don't have any ill will against the kid or his sister. But my self worth isn't wrapped up in him, so I don't need to.

There's also an elite level of obliviousness to say you're calling out shitty fan behavior and you've gone out of your way to shit on the hiring of Greg Mattison. But to each their own, right?

I'm "shitting" on the hire, not the person. Let's pretend there's no difference, though.

"Greg Mattison is a good coach but the hire doesn't make sense because we already have everything he represents. We should have gone for different qualities OR not paid him as much" = "Tate sucks now that he's not a Buckeye"

Sure thing. Those are totally equal.

Oh, now you understand nuance? Funny how that works. At first it was "these guys are only talking shit on Tate because he left." Ignoring the huge gray area of people that may not like him for talking shit and leaving without backing it up, the revelations that he was trying to leave multiple times and needed to talked into staying, or even the people just making jokes for the fun of it.

And considering nobody in here has said Tate sucks, you're arguing against nothing.

People are in here saying he's not even going to win the job at Miami and saying he should've gone to an even lesser school because he can't throw. Sorry if I took that as a shot at his abilities :roll2:

People can fool themselves into thinking they don't like him bc he talked shit and left, or bc he needed to be talked into staying (holy shit....if that's it, you guys need to update your "who I hate" list, bc PLENTY of Buckeyes fall into that category) all they want. The ones who take shots at his ability while doing it are the ones that I'm calling out.

Funny how that works.

AFTER you've posted that there was no chance Dwayne was staying next year....so you didn't even believe Tate would be starting here next year. But you got beef with people saying he won't start at Miami?

You didn't seem to have a problem with people questioning his ability until recently. It seems like you argue any point you feel like arguing that day, contradictions be damned.

1st post: No hidden meaning. I made it because I like QBs who are good at being QB. Says nothing either pro or con about Tate's abilities....or any QB's abilities other than Haskins'.
2nd post: Again, no hidden meaning. The poster asked why people questioned Tate's NFL chances (emphasis mine). I gave the reasons. Those have nothing to do with his talents as they exist in college.
3rd post: In response solely to the 'keep your negative thoughts to yourself' sentiment. I'm not a fan of people saying you're not allowed to talk negatively.....as long as the negativity is warranted and not just to be a dickhead at a kid who left your favorite team. Wanna talk shit on Jahsen Wint for taking shitty angles? Go for it, he does. Wanna talk shit on Tate saying he can't throw just because you're butthurt he chose to leave? You're gonna get called on it.
4th post: So many confusing things here. 1st....No hidden meaning, he chose to say something that didn't make sense, so I explained why it didn't make sense. 2nd....I'm not pretending like I thought Tate would start over Fields. I was pretty certain he wouldn't. That doesn't mean he sucks. It means he's not a better QB for this system than Fields. 3rd....Yeah, I got beef with people who act like he all of a sudden can't throw or compete at MIAMI. Not OHIO STATE. At OHIO STATE, Fields is very much in his way. At MIAMI, show me the elite QB that's in his way. I feel like I need to capitalize the different schools for you to get that.

You pretty clearly don't understand my stance here. I'm not defending Tate because I think he's the greatest QB ever. I'm defending him because it makes Ohio State fans look like assholes to shit on him when we were all excited for the Tate Martell show before we even knew Fields was a thing. The second we see he is in the transfer portal, our pride gets hurt because somebody dares to not think Ohio State is right for him....and all of a sudden it's TATHAN CAN'T THROW AND HIS SISTER IS UGLY.

You keep saying we were ALL excited and that’s not true. Multiple people have shown you it’s not true.

You have to ask yourself why nobody did anything but send well wishes to James Clark, Joe Burrow, Antonio Williams, Jamel Dean, etc. There’s people hoping Malik Barrow is able to get healthy and turn it around when he finds his destination. Stop telling yourself we’re upset he left.

I’m gonna bow out of this debate. BN27, I normally agree with most of your takes, but I think you’re off here.
