QB Stephen Collier (Official Thread)

Great story. Its wonderful to see that the 'system' worked in Collier's favor. Am truly sorry we didn't get to see him compete, but anyone that can get degreed in three years, plus sitting in on all the position meetings, etc is quite a person. Far better his way than the RS sophomore that declares and then isn't drafted....Anyone know if his schollie becomes vacated, and would expect he'd receive an academic one in place to pursue his graduate degree. Hope he becomes a GA, and later on an AD. College athletics needs more ADs like Mr. Collier. Go Bucks!

I believe they have the option of giving him a medical scholarship because of his ACL, which would free up an athletic scholarship.

Disagree. I suspect he's got a perfect understanding and appreciation for how far ahead of the curve he is.
Well, I can agree with that to an extent, but even as smart and mature as he is compared to others his age, only experience can show him a better understanding of how he stacks up. Maybe it would have been better to say that as he moves on in life he will realize even more just how much of a head start he has given himself. What we can agree on is that he has set himself well for a very, very nice life...

Especially a Master's in Sports Management. Anyway he's probably looking for an assistant coaching job which I'm sure he'll get

He can coach - he can get into scouting or work on the personnel side in the NFL - he can teach - he can pursue his PhD - he can run a training/development facility - he can be a large HS AD.....much, much more options available to him due to the opportunities he has been presented and capitalized on. He's no Joe Schmo with a degree, he's Stephen Collier, former Ohio State Univ. QB and National Champion with a degree!
