Who asked for this guy's opinion?
Ewers' decision has sparked adverse reaction for some, including a remark from former Oklahoma and Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight. Knight, a fellow Texas native, starred at Reagan High in San Antonio and signed with the Sooners as a four-star prospect in 2012, long before players were granted the ability to make money from branding.
"I wholeheartedly disagree with this decision," Knight tweeted this week, a reaction that resulted in 2,200 likes and more than 100 comments.
Knight signed as an undrafted free agent in 2017 with the Arizona Cardinals and was a practice squad player prior to his entry into the the now-defunct AAF with the Arizona Hotshots two years later.
At least this guy shows some class.
"I have a lot of respect for (Quinn) and if he kind of feels like that’s what he needs to do, then good for him,” Klubnik said in an interview with 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. “I don’t have much of an opinion on it. I’m just trying to get ready for the season.”
Klubnik says his final season of prep football prior to joining one of the nation's top programs is necessary to fine-tune his skill set, specifically working on his pocket presence.
"I need the senior year, for sure," Klubnik said when asked if he would be ready to play now at Clemson. "Just being able to work on all the fine details before I get to Clemson is going to be awesome. It's going to be really good for me, you know, as a true first-year starter last year, you kind of got a lot going on. I've really got the offense down right now. I feel like we've got a really good shot to do something special this year."
