QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

From the Bleacher Report:

Marvin Harrison Jr. Trolls Former OSU Teammate Kyle McCord After Syracuse QB's TD Run

Marvin Harrison Jr. had jokes for his former teammate on Friday.

After Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord, formerly Ohio State's starting quarterback, recorded a 19-yard touchdown run against Stanford, Harrison took to social media to let McCord know that he was impressed while dishing out a backhanded compliment.

"That was the most athletic thing I've ever seen you do," Harrison said in the post directed towards McCord.

Neither interception was his fault.

The second one was all his fault

Receiver was supposed to hook and he turned in.
The first INT (the pick 6) was not his fault.....his receiver needs to sit in the zone opening (where the ball was thrown) and instead kept running.

The 2nd INT was absolutely his fault, he underthrew the wheel route (which wasn't open in any case)....

Syracuse has basically no running game and as we saw last year, McCord's strengths are much stronger when the running game is working.

Agreed - I was watching two games at the same time and attributed one of Raiola’s ints to McCord. The second was definitely McCord’s fault.

McCord looks one helluva lot happier. There’s also that.
I don’t think the biggest issue at Ohio State was his physical ability, it was his leadership and ability to motivate people to play at their highest level with him.

I’ll always be salty over the report Birm gave that he said “don’t make mistakes” at least three times in his pregame “speech” before The Game.

Inspiring stuff.

He fits in better at Syracuse were everything matches that level of enthusiasm.

Last year could see that Day was unhappy with McCord during the game. Guess after the terrific run of QBs with the Buckeyes, a mere mortal just wasn't cutting it with Day. OK, McCord saw the handwriting on the wall and left. Has worked out well for him so far, so good for Kyle. Also, and just maybe, that experience 'toned down' Day's expectations from the position (or Chip talked him down from the ledge), that all the Buckeyes needed was a game manager, with a good arm, good head, and good feet, to lead the overwhelming talent. Certainly there were far better gun-slingers in the portal (Ward telling Day he'd come for $2 mil), etc, but truly believe that Howard has the savvy, AND the talent to lead this team to the promised land. Guess we'll see. Go Bucks!
