QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

Nope. Think you’d have to go into next year with an open competition again. Give the other 2 QB’s more snaps in the practices up to the bowl as well.

McCord I think clearly isn’t “that guy”. He’d be a fine QB for like Purdue but he’s not going to win titles here. I get the feeling Day will give him a massive leash though before if ever benching him

He just has 0 mobility. Obviously he's not a threat to scramble, but his mobility in the picket isn't good either, which is why he is so bad when there's pressure. I'm sorry, if you need a good line, good receivers and a good back to be good, you're not very good. Look at McCarthy, got to give him credit, he's not Lamar Jackson, but he made a ton of plays with his feet yesterday.

No progress during the year... still doing same things .. immobile, single reads, bad footwork. inconsistent accuracy
CJ, Fields and Simba spoiled us
Reason for concern cuz I don't see Brown as the answer
Anyone who thinks he made no progress I don:t know what game you were watching. To begin the year he was playing so fast he was throwing the checkdown by the time he should have been on his 2nd read. He clearly got better at that.

His accuracy was still hit and miss but then again the man was playing with at least one potentially 2 bad ankles. Lost in the whole OMG JJ what a warrior love fest is McCord has been more banged up all year and being asked to do far more while being banged up

wasn't able to get into his usual 2nd half flow. were minter's adjustments too much to handle?

The Bucks had only three possessions in the second half prior to the desperation drive with a minute left.

touchdown
3 and out <--- that one hurt
touchdown

TCUN had the ball for over 18 minutes in the second half and scored on all four drives.

Yep the offense was rough the first half and showed up the 2nd. The D held the first half then proceeded to not get off the the field in the 2nd

Not this how many times does it need to be said.McCord had bad ankles

He was limping in post game multiple games. His ankles were taped to hell. He was limping pregame.

He's not McCarthy even when healthy. But we have no idea if he has functional mobility.

Do I need to Wayne Brady upside the head of the next person that thinks this is a real point?

@dragurd I gave the ankle injuries their fair due when I made my post. The reg season is over. Thru all of spring then summer, preseason and 12 games, I expect a 5 star junior to be able to get thru his progressions and hit his receiver in a catchable spot consistently. That entails proper feet placement and balance. I didn't expect Quinn Ewers but I expected in the arena. The number of times he throws into solid double and even triple coverage!?!?! The mobility issue was observed in preseason and first games, not when the ankle stuff happened. The weapons he has are the BEST in college football. Maybe he's too even keel and too nice of a guy. I want a QB who would bite your arm

Did he get hit on last int? yep.. but there were TWO WRs wide open that he never looked at on that play.

Really good QBs aren't good enuf to drive this elite racecar... QB minimally has to be great. Elite is nirvana but would take great

Bad ankles will effect accuracy. I agree with throwing into coverage he seemed to try and force one in there every game and just trust his arm could beat it.

As for the even keel thing I thought that would be dead after Stroud and Fields two of our best QBs ever were described as even keel.

He got better on his reads he didn't become great on them and he was no where near CJ but the only guy have seen anywhere close vs CJ on making the right read quickly was Haskins (rest his soul) but he certainly improved. He still needs a lot of work but at the beginning of the year he was first read for half the time he should not letting it play out then looking for his check down.

Losing Marvin will help and hurt him. He's gotten way too used to being able to just throw shit out there and Marv will get it... May be why his HS ratings could be deceiving. This is the finest WR room in the nation.
