QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips, Brain with a Lunatic Fringe)

He's really too stupid to keep his mouth shut. He didn't need to do this.
This is exactly it. I was thinking about this more this morning, and I realized another angle of how fucking stupid he is. Ohio State stomping the shit out of Tennessee in the same building with essentially the same weather with LESS fan support (body count wise) is actually a point IN FAVOR of the fans who are fed up with Ryan Day for that bullshit game plan that was used against Michigan. WE WERE PROVED CORRECT. An offensive onslaught lead by peppering Jeremiah Smith with targets was what we were all screaming for against Michigan.......and Ryan Day just proved we were right. Instead of realizing that, this fucktard had his pre-made talking points and just flew through them WHILE WE WERE STILL KICKING TENNESSEE'S ASS with the game plan that should have been used against Michigan.

Do I need to bring up the time (all of November of 2004) that frosty tips kept saying, "Hey you know what, Notre Dame* is going to steal our opportunity to hire Urban Meyer out from under us and we should fire Tressel because he sucks and something about Maurice Clarett and there being some kind of manufactured scandal and totally should get rid of Tressel and hire Meyer so Notre Dame doesn't. And maybe he was right about that, and maybe he's right about keeping Day... but let's talk about lunatics.

*I mean, obviously Florida ended up hiring him...

I’m calling this now: Herbie will walk this back (without taking any responsibility or offering an apology) and blame it on mental health and how he hasn’t been the same since his dog passed. He will blame a dead dog for decades of him being a douchbag.
Herbie will take the evangelical route....

"I was on the road to Bristol to persecute some Buckeye fans when Saint Woody suddenly appeared to me in a vision. He said: Son, you have been consorting with harlots and mockers. You have sold your soul to ESPN and your son to the Whore of Ann Arbor. You have blasphemed my team and angered the football gods. You must repent for your sins. Then he hit me over the head with a yard marker and I lost consciousness. When I awoke, I was a changed man – now I sing Carmen Ohio, I bleed scarlet and gray, and I am a TRUE BUCKEYE!!"

I’m not up on everything this dipshit has said since the game ended but I can tell from afar what fundamental mistake he made.

If you are from a big, dysfunctional family one thing you learn about day 2 is that when two elements of said family start feuding you STAY THE FUCK OUT IF IT like your life depends on it. Because if you get in it and take sides, they are going to make up and then both will turn on you. This is Big Dysfunctional Family Survival 101.

Buckeye Nation is a big dysfunctional group. The negatives just got into a fight with the coaches and Mr Savior complex just dove into it head first. The coaches got sick of hearing it, did a 180 and won a big game. The makeup is beginning to happen.

Good luck Savior. You poor dumb bastard

He managed to piss off the Ohio State “lunatic fringe,” whatever percent that may be, by calling them out, and he managed to piss off the rest of the Ohio State fanbase by implying this was an issue somehow unique and elevated for Buckeyes and not an issue that literally every fanbase deals with, and he made it exponentially worse by stupidly picking an issue (being pissed off about the inexplicable UM game “plan” on offense) that is way closer to a well-informed, reasonable college football take than it is to extreme, which he then managed to make THAT worse by busting out the talking points that were clearly designed to be used if Ohio State continued to struggle while they absolutely rolled in dominating fashion.

It’s layers of stupid that is hard to describe succinctly.

And the heat Mr. Overly Sensitive is taking now is just going to make him go even more insane and continue spiraling.

Stephen A wants the smoke.

Screamin' A is a clown, but I can kind of respect someone like him. He doesn't try to dress himself up as something he's not and he doesn't hide from his own words. Herbstreit is a sports tabloid journalist who wants you to believe he's some kind of Tom Brokaw elder statesman among the CFB talking heads.

Didn’t he double down on Haskins being a running QB circa that draft class.

I’m not calling you out, just highlighting that Herbstreit is in the running with someone who does something that stupid.

He's kissing ass to everyone outside of OSU by thinking if he bashes us the rest of the audience will like him more and believe he's unbiased meanwhile assumes OSU faithful will give him multiple passes because assuredly, he played for us... so we know he really doesn't mean it

Walking that tightrope
He went way over the line Saturday.. and the last week
