Announcing the Herbie trophy

For the record, everything Kirk Herbstreit has said about Chase Young's suspension is not true.

  • Herbstreit did not have insider knowledge, when he said Ohio State expected Chase Young to be suspended for four games and would appeal to have it reduced to two games.
  • Ohio State contradicted him, telling the press that it did not expect a 4 game suspension for Chase Young.
  • Herbstreit did not have insider knowledge, when he quickly tweeted that Ohio State had successfully had Chase Young's suspension reduced to two games.
  • Ohio State called another press conference in which they indicated that they had asked for a one-game suspension but accepted two games. There was never an expectation for 4 games. There was no appeal.
In recognition of his constant service as a shill for the SEC, and especially for his attempt to take Chase Young out of the Heisman discussion, I am hereby announcing that Kirk Herbstreit is hereby recognized as the first recipient of a special trophy to be known as "The Herbie". Like Kirk, the trophy has a fake gold frosted coating!
