QB Kirk ‘Nightmare On’ Herbstreit (Frosted Quips, Afraid of THE Lunatic Fringe)

He works for an entertainment network. Wrong place to look for unbiased analysis. He gets paid a ton and I'm sure that's why he says some of the stuff he says and doesn't say things some want him to say.

This is really the heart of the matter. ESPN doesn't make Herbie say shit, Herbie chooses to play the role in return for a stack of cash. That's all well and fine but if you take the cash to be someones whore, don't start crying about how bad the dick tastes.

Is anyone just accountable for what they do anymore? I'd have a little more respect for him if he was just a man about it and said "hey, they pay me to trash you guys sorry if it pisses anyone off but actually I don't give a shit. I've got a family to feed." That's how a man goes about his business in my book. The scUM gear and some comments would still piss me off but whatever, I'm just a fan.

Instead we get the sobbing, whining bitch scenario where he's still going to take the money but wants a fucking man hug and everyone to like him anyway. Simply nauseating.

As far as the different roles he and Spielman have that's true but I think it speaks to the differences in their character. I don't think Spielman would take the stack of cash in return for his dignity in the first place.

I also don't ever see Spielman crying because people give him shit about something he said. If he feels strongly about something he's going to look you in the eye and say it. If you don't like it, well that's life sometimes. No tearful confessions of how conflicted he is over the matter or teletubby group hugs needed.

I'm still finding it hard to believe that Herbie would break down into tears over feeling guilty about how the team perceives him. It seems more likely that Herbie would have broken out into tears explaining how passionate he is about the program and his love for Ohio State in general. I refuse to believe that he cried explaining the fact that he is sorry for how he is perceived by the team.

IDK, maybe this shit is true, but I'm always skeptical about shit like this. I've always known that Herbies a real Buckeye, but like many of us, we can get critical, even overly so, and regret it later.

I had a dream we were posting on the same thread together. Even if it kills me, it's gods will.

Wow... I feel like I'm listening to my sister and her friends in high school bitch about something one of their other friends said seemingly just to create drama. I can't believe people can't get over the few times he may have exagerated too much. I see Herby as the leader of a huge group of former buckeyes in the media that I'm proud as hell of.

I've never doubted Herbie's love for OSU. Anyone that has needs simply to look at this picture of him and Eddie from the '03 Title Game.

I'm a little late getting in on this thread, but who's the Eddie guy which you refer? :wink2:

"Well, I heard Cindy talking to Kirk, and Cindy said Kirk doesn't really like the Buckeyes, so Linda said to Charles that Mark might not go drinking with Kirk because he doesn't really like the way Kirk talks."

Jeepers. I thought Junior High School ended a long time ago.
