QB Kirk ‘Nightmare On’ Herbstreit (Frosted Quips, Afraid of THE Lunatic Fringe)

Herbstreit haters might want to listen to his interview comments in the Colin Cowherd show today. He really has perspective on the Ohio State situation and on Coach Tressel's approach to his players that got him into the hot water that forced him out.

Great commentary IMO.

I was impressed by what Herbie said too. That said, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. Dismissing his antics of the last few years based on one interview is as stupid as pointing to that picture from the nc game in which he was jumping on Eddie's shoulders to justify those same comments.

Let's hope it's a step in the right direction. I think Herbie wants to be accepted by Buckeye fans, and hopefully realizes some of his past mistakes.

It almost sounds that Herbstreit and JT has problems between them..and I will side with JT on this one..
I don't understand how one could listen to the Cowherd interview and conclude this.

Regardless of how you feel about Herbstreit, his comments in this show make a lot of sense.

As compared to, for example, throwing a fit every time he says something other than "Go Bucks!" when asked a question about Ohio State?

Well, if you look hard enough for something negative you can always find it, even if you have to imagine it.

Just because he finally gave a fair answer without resorting to hyperbole and theoretical worst-case scenarios for once doesn't mean that we're going to see the light and welcome him back. He's just happy that Tressel is gone and he got a new shipment of spray tan.

Herbstreit would like to position himself as the friend of Ohio State football? Now, we're supposed to think all of the crap he's pulled has been justified because he had the interests of Ohio State at heart? He has a balanced viewpoint?

Absolute BS. His frustration with Pryor is driven by jealousy purely and simply. His anger with Tressel is that Tressel didn't allow him to use Ohio State to play the "I'm a big insider guy" in his ESPiN gig. He sat on the sidelines when they engaged in that despicable campaign in 2003.

I don't want to hear a thing that this man has to say about anything.
