Just a feeling, but I think Devin gives Kyle a run for his money for QB1 next season. Expecting a solid battle through Spring and Fall.

I do not choose to discuss it
I realize that 1) he’s not getting a lot of opportunities to run even half of the playbook and 2) the comparison (Stroud) is a sure fire first round draft pick, but I’ve always felt underwhelmed by the way McCord throws the ball. His delivery just seems a little sluggish and slow, and the ball doesn’t ‘pop’ when he delivers it.
I think about an NFL arm like a 100 mph fastball, you can just tell when someone is reaching that level even if you don’t have a radar gun. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen much from McCord to make me think he is on an “NFL arm” level to this point in his career.
As is being mentioned here, I think that leaves the door open for Brown to make a move.
With that said, decision making has to be a huge factor in that competition, and it is impossible to say where either of them are at in that regard.

At the end of the day I'm really appreciative that McCord is on the team. Because we could have had that asshat JJ McCarthy instead with his douchy, arrogant attitude .....

I think it's fair to speculate that there will be a legit competition to be QB1 next year. In fact, that's not speculation; I think the staff and players would tell you it's a fact. One thing with Day, I don't think he bullshits his QBs and Raiola is on the way.

ON KYLE MCCORD, DEVIN BROWN
- “Kyle has really progressed. I think he’s learning from C.J.”
- Hartline said McCord and Brown have had the mindset of learning from Stroud as much as possible this season. He added that those quarterbacks have learned that they don’t have the same play style as Stroud, and that’s OK, but there are still things to pick up on.
- “Devin is a year behind Kyle, but he’s doing a really good job… it’s been impressive to see him communicate and grow over the last nine months.”
