He certainly wasn't far off and that included missing a game and a couple others dealing with a bum shoulder. It was truly a remarkable season and he did it as a RS Freshman.

Day deserves some criticism for some things, but no one can deny he has done unbelievable work with the QBs. It's a goddamned assembly line right now.

Dead on. Hopefully he can hand off the defense and realize that's not his gig. But I think we all know he's a killer QB and offensive coach. If he gets a good defensive staff, I think everyone knows they're in trouble.

I love Stroud, but it's getting clear whoever we have are going to just destroy it. Last name could be Haskins, Fields, Stroud...not downplaying CJ at all because he's amazing, but Day is going to pump out QBs.

Rewatched the Rose Bowl. I’ve never seen a college QB have such an accurate passing performance. Guys were constantly being hit in full stride, and the balls were usually right in the middle of their catch radius. The memorable throws where guys had to go up to make a catch were the time JSN came out of the backfield and had to go up because the ball was over the linebacker, where it had to be; and the last pass of the first half where Fleming’s backside hit before he got out of bounds. JSN got a ton of YAC because the balls were so catchable.

Just an unbelievable passing performance. If later this month JC doesn’t win the Manning Award, which includes bowl performances, it will be a terrible injustice.

Let's see what Young does against UGA in the NCG 1st before handing out the Manning to CJ. I agree though, that Rose Bowl perfermance and ball placement on many of those big plays were perfect. A few inches either way and they are incomplete, allow the DB to recover/close for a tackle/deflection, or lead the WR out of bounds. Amazing accuracy.

I just rewatched it as well and that was the most surgical, accurate performance I've ever seen from a QB at any level in my lifetime. You said it perfectly, of course JSN and Harrison played amazingly. But they couldn't have been in better position to do so when Stroud is putting the ball in the spot that every QB coach in America would tell you to put it. Legit every throw except that interception was basically perfect. And I swear that high release was perfect and looked different than the rest of the season. Really hoping he can channel that into next season because if he does, he's the first QB off the board in the Draft.

I agree. Sometimes watching it live you are awestruck and don't realize what your watching. I will say Stroud made 5-8 throws in that game that maybe 8-10 people on this planet could make. I recommend rewatching it. Maybe fast-forward through the defensive struggles. Some are saying Stroud is just another "system" quarterback under Day. That's BULLSHIT.

Reminds me of the 2005 season Fiesta Bowl where Troy, Ginn, Gonzo, and Hall set up a deadly offensive NC run the next year.

I was watching an RJ Young podcast and he made that comparison to our WR unit this year, but was saying this year was the best we've had and I tend to agree. But yes, that group of receivers was so much fun to watch and there's a lot to be excited about with that group and Stroud throwing it to them.
