Also, don't skimp on the cheap plastic swabs - they've gotta be Q-tips.
:p
I can't stand the floppy plastic ones.

But you don't have to buy just Q-Tip brand. If you ever shop at Giant Eagle, buy the Giant Eagle brand. They are the exact same as the Q-Tip ones. Plus they're cheaper too. We get a even better deal on them since my mom gets a 10% discount on all Giant Eagle products.

I've never used them in my life.

My dad used to use them alot, and it jammed the wax back in his ear.

The wax built up for awhile, and after it started to effect his hearing, the doctor had flushed his ears out. You'd be surprised how much wax can be packed back there.

I agree with you on the wax getting jammed. But I still use Q-Tips all the time.

I use one of these once a year to clean all the jammed wax out.

When I was in high school my hearing started getting worse. The family doc said it was wax build up and he irrigated my ears to clean them out. Man, you should have seen the shit that was in there, ballfield clay, stones, bugs, dirt, clumps of wax, it was scarry. I must say it worked though, I couldn't stand to drive my car for a week because the wind noise was so loud it hurt, and that was with the windows up!!!

Did you use Q-Tips at the time?

Nope. Q-tips are not good for your ears. The wax is there for a purpose, and using a Q-tip will just cause more wax and other ear problems. If you never use them, and jsut clean the outside of your ear that u can get with a washcloth, you won't have a wax buildup problem at all.

Y'all must be lucky enough to not have the sinus/allergy drainage I have. Q-tips are my friends. (I don't stick them into my ear canal just the outer ear and the rim of the inner.)

I've had tubes in my ears twice. Once when I was like 2. The second time when I was like 15. When I had them I had to wear ear plugs in the shower and couldn't have water in my ear for the whole time they were in there. Which I think was like 4 months(don't fully remember how long).

Which meant I also couldn't use Q-Tips. But I really only used them for the water feeling in my ear more than anything.
