Purdue 36, Oregon 38 (final)

This was a "moral victory" but I hate that cliche. We hung right with these guys and it should have gone into overtime if not for that blocked extra point. Frustrating...

Both teams played well on offense but defenses were weak. Constantly saw big pass plays and big runs from both teams. So far I like what coach Hope is doing and I honestly think if it was a Tiller coached team in Autzen last night we would have lost by 10-20 points. Joey Elliott needs to cut down on the picks. Oregon had two defensive touchdowns last night. Can't make those mistakes and win ball games. However, we are performing better than I expected so far this year but damnit I wanted that game last night! RB Ralph Bolden is a bright spot and tearing it up right now.

I watched the second half of that game, The Boilermakers look like they could be a tough out this year. I was impressed by their offense. It's still hard to get an exact guage though because Oregon is going through some term oil right now with the Blount fiasco and it's hard to say whether or not they're the team we thought they were before the Boise fiasco. Taking them to the wire though is very encouraging
