Shit! There are 19 listed in my 5-digit zip code. None of them are real close, but this is scary when you've got a 17-year old daughter.

Only 1 guy very close, but MAN is he close. I combined this page with http://maps.google.com satellite maps to really freak myself out. This guy's within a half mile of my house. We are in the first subdivision outside his apartment complex. My kids were playing with a girl down the street this weekend. Her house backs up to some trees.. on the other side of the trees is this guy's apartment... I'm driving through tonight to see which way his faces, but google maps makes it look like he could overlook her yard!


I also see about 5 people in my ZIP code with ADDRESS UNKOWN. What's up with that? Aren't we supposed to know where these guys are?

I didn't post this to scare anyone, but I don't think any of us really grasp how close to these situations we all are. By realizing just how many sick people there are out there, we take the safety of our loved ones a little more seriously.

I have a 10 year old sister and have stressed the importance of always traveling in groups, not talking to strange people and to kick and scream and bite to get away no matter what.

No need to really scare them, but if they know how to handle themselves in such a situation it can make all the difference.

OB.. don't worry about that. In cases like this the more informed you can be the better off you and your family will be. One thing to remember is that these sites are REGISTERED sex offenders... that doesn't mean that the info is correct (hopefully it is). There are still some of these nut jobs that don't register when they are release and then go on the run. They are trying to get a law passed down here that would make it mandatory for all registered sex offenders to wear ankle bracelets so they can be tracked. The guy that killed Jessica Lunsford last month was "staying with freinds" behind her house and nobody knew he was there.

There are more sick fucks out there than you know. My youngest daughter had a van full of guys pull up by her when she was 10-11 as she was walking home...she ran away instantly. Fortunately it was while she was walking in broad daylight on a highly populated residential street and she was only a block from home (and that she's a fast runner).
