Buckeneye

I lead, you follow.
I'm not sure how huge most of you are into PC FPS'. If the game is right,
it is by far the superior platform for said genre. So I figured I would share the upcoming game I seem to be looking forward to most.

I'm sure some are familiar with F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon)
and its two expansions Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate. I won't lie, if it wasn't for several elements, the game and story itself would be rather generic shoot 'em up FPS. (Queue Doom3) However what was different was in the plot, environment, game play and story direction.

If you've played the first then you'll know what I'm talking about. For those that haven't I'll be brief.

Basically your a unnamed soldier sent in on a specific mission. To eliminate the commander of a large battalion of enemy troops. The only problem; the commander has psychic capabilities that link him with his troops.
The kicker, there is a serious paranormal sub-plot. The intro makes little sense of it all. However as the game progresses you run into more and more "hallucinations" "flash-backs" and general creepy and suspenseful moments. It centers around this little girl (which I"m now seriously creeped out by little girls) who seems to be a malevolent apparition with her own motives.

If you have about $30 to spend, I highly recommend picking up FEAR and Extraction Point. I will warn you, the last level of the 2nd game is very freaky. I was never really scared of horror movies or the like - but the music and creature interaction is brilliant and terrifying.

Now I told you all that to get to the next point. Project Origin; it is the next in line of the FEAR series. It takes point just as the 1st one is ending and leads you in (what were told) a whole different direction. I've been keeping my eye on it since I first heard, so I wanted to share a couple videos I found.

Project Origin

I'm just sharing to perhaps somebody else can enjoy these games as much as i have.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone here will be buying the game? Or might be as excited as I am? This genre (FPS Horror) always struck the right nerve with me.

p.s. I almost forgot, FEAR, EP and PM are all available on consoles.
So if your looking for something comparable to HL2, Doom, or maybe Resident evil - head to Gamestop and pick them up used.

Realize this thread never got much attention, but I did want to point out - the Demo is available through steam as of last night.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

If you have Steam, its also available through that. I would recommend jumping on it asap. Especially if you enjoy creepy games, the demo is a bit short, but gives you a great idea of what the atmosphere is like.
