Premier League (Official Thread)

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Man City | Kaka rejects Manchester City move
AC Milan playmaker Kaka has turned down a lucrative move to Manchester City.

"Kaka is staying at Milan," said a club spokesman, after team owner Silvio Berlusconi told Italian television the 26-year-old had opted not to leave.

City issued a statement saying they had ended talks, believing it was unlikely a deal could be struck with Milan.

"A transfer must work commercially, financially, results on the field and within City's broader community," said executive chairman Garry Cook.

"The discussions reached only a preliminary stage and the player was not involved at any time." added Cook, who spent Monday in meetings with Milan officials and Kaka's father and advisor Bosco Leite. "No commercial terms were framed."

City's bid for Kaka was reportedly worth a ?100m, more than ?50m in excess of the current world transfer fee record Real Madrid paid to Juventus to sign Zinedine Zidane in 2001 and that the Premier League club were willing to pay the Brazilian weekly wages of ?500,000.

Easy there, Skidoo is just making the Celtic fans look like crap on here. And given there are only 2 of us (as far as I know) that's only 50% "good fan" rate and that's not a good thing.

Anyways, I don't think that Celtic/Rangers will not be able to compete regularly in Europe until they start getting some better competition in their league. Hurts to say it but its true. I mean for example, look at Celtic, we can't win/gain any points away from Celtic Park.

I have nothing against either Rangers or Celtic. Both are fine teams, but their fans have to realize that they are a second or third tier european teams. I have a friend that is a huge Celtic fan and I applaud him for that.

First, this thread is absolutely insignificant in the scheme of BuckeyePlanet...therefore, it would not take much more of the garbage to lock or delete this entire conversation.

However, there seems to be some interest among a handful of you so hopefully that step will not be necessary. Therefore, I'll simply ask that the namecalling, trolling, and potstirring stop. A few of you are complaining about rules that you are not following yourself...whether it is in retaliation or not.

Clean it up.

Grazie.

This thread got serious - quick.

I think it's funny that I am keeping my cool and I support the scouse team.

Hey the scousers are having their best season in recent memory. In second place going into the last half of the season. And with Chelsea playing so poorly, they could cement that 2nd spot.

At the break, United lead 3-0 on goals from Nani, O'shea, and Tevez. Look for more of the same in the second half.

Oh man - so glad I stayed away from this game. 99% of the people on ESPN streak for the cash picked 3 goals or less. I have to imagine another goal will go through in the 2nd half. My streak is currently at 8.

Man U wins 4-2 and advances to the Carling Cup final. Burnley vs. Tottenham tommorow in the other semi-final with the Spurs holding a 4-1 lead on aggregate from the first leg.

i am confident in saying that Tottenham and United will be meeting in the Final. Another piece of hardware for United.

after my week long suspension I'm finally back.....

Man U dismantle West Brom 5-0 and go 3 pts clear in first place with a game in hand. Berbatov opened the scoring with Tevez and Vidic following before a Cristiano double. Aston Villa put the pressure on Chelsea after Heskey scores a goal in his Villa debut to beat Portsmouth and go 2 pts ahead of Chelsea for 3rd place.

Villa were awful again, especially in the second half. They've been lucky as hell since Christmas. If they're not leading Arsenal by at least 6 points in mid-March, I can't see them hanging on to 4th anymore.

United got their 11th-consecutive clean sheet, which is a new league record.
