Prediction for 2006 Captains (Merged)

I have a feeling that Troy will be one of the captains on offense.

Now there is usually one DB that is captain. But by looking at it, there is only one starting(As of Spring) DB that is a senior, Antonio Smith. And for some reason, I don't see him as a captain.

So who you guys think will be the 4 captains?

Actually Pitcock and Patterson is a good call. I think Downing will get the nod over Datish since he's been a starter longer, but I think you've hit the two defensive captains right on target...

Mitchell's in a battle to even get a starting position. You think we're gonna have a senior caption who's not starting? I doubt it.

Mitchelll has a great shot. I remember his name was mentioned a lot by the coaching staff as a potential captain last year. He'll definitely be starting somewhere -- if not at FS or SS, then he'll be the starting NB.

I 'm going to go out on two big limbs, say we'll have five captains, and make two unusual picks:

Smith, Datish or Downing, and, as a Jr., Gonzalez, as offensive captains.

Pitcock and D'Andrea as defensive captains.

Usually it's 2 offense, 2 defense, or at the very least 1 special teamer thrown in there (Nugent comes to mind). Haven't seen 3 from one side of the ball I don't think.

Like I said, I'm going out on a limb, but he seems popular, he's willing to do whatever it takes for the team while others get the hype, and he excels academically, so I'm taking a bit of a flier on him.

. No joke. If Smith isn't one of the captains, I'll be absolutely shocked.

The other offensive captain I agree will probably be Downing, but what about Hall for an outside shot? I've heard that he's really stepped up and been a leader so far this year.

On defense, I think it'll probably be MDA and Pitcock.
