Really, really surprised to only see 4 Ohio guys on there. Wells, Smith, Brown, and Boren were all guys that I knew would make it. However, Small and Rose were both dropped out of the Pre-evaluation Rivals 100. I thought for sure Gibson or maybe Homan could have made it. I think though when we see the Scout Top 100, we'll see a lot more Ohio guys with the previously mentioned four to go along with Gibson, Rose, and Small. For some reason I think Scout seems to give us more favorably ranked classes anyways. It could be because there's a Scout Combine in Ohio this year and there was no Nike Camps in Ohio. It doesn't really bother me because I know all these guys can play, and I want them all to become Buckeyes.
Thaddeus Gibson was previously among MaxEmfinger's Nifty 50 players (then the next day he was edited to be one LB away from being in that group).
Rose is one of Max's two best rush DE's.
Homan is Max's only 6-star ILB.
Small should improve his stock a lot after this season. He is a little small (no pun intended), and there are probably other players who are quite talented but are questioned b/c of their size. I'm ok with him not being on the list. Early offers from places like USC prove he's a stud.
I think the reason as to why Rose and Small fell was because of a lack of film or something like that according to BN. Also, if you back to both of their threads, you will see that it says that both of them had great workouts in the Blacksburg Combine for Scout. What really hurt them is that neither of them went to a Nike camp. By the end of the season, they'll both be in the Top 100 as will Gibson, I believe. Really these rankings mean nothing. It's all about how they continue to grow once they enter campus. These rankings aren't anything to get bent out of shape over or lose any sleep or anything. But like I said earlier I think all these guys plus possibly Coleman if he has another tremendous year will be in the Top 100. When it comes to the Scout rankings, there will be more Ohio guys listed I'm sure because Rivals does tend to be a bit friendly to the Southern states for some reason.
