Heat Cancels Ohio State Football Practice | WBNS-10TV, Central Ohio News

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Ohio State football coaches canceled one of their two scheduled practices because of Friday's heat and high humidity levels. A university spokeswoman said that the team's trainers recommended to cancel the first practice because of temperatures in the 90s and high humidity levels. Much of central Ohio was placed under an air quality alert on Friday, meaning that children, the elderly and sensitive groups should stay inside.
The team was planning to practice in the afternoon, 10TV's Dan Fronczak reported.

Friday's two-a-day would have been the second time this season that the team would have had multiple practices on the same day.
The team is scheduled to take part in the annual kick scrimmage in Ohio Stadium on Saturday.

Shelly Poe said that the practice field in the WHAC was actually hotter than it was outside.

I, for one, would not be averse to seeing them add an HVAC system, expensive though it may be.

Unless things have changed since I went to camp there in 94 scum's indoor facility doesn't have AC either. Dickrod can't let a little thing like heat stroke stand in the way of practice time.

I know, right? He probably even makes them practice longer than they should in the unbearable heat.

That report is in error. The ambient heat and humidity had nothing to do with cancelling practice. Rather, the OSU offense and defense are so hot JT had to give them a day off just to make it fair on the rest of the Big Ten.

Especially Michigan, since we know they can't handle teams that are hot, or even teams that are Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

I only asked because they were talking about the story on an SEC site I frequent and I was actually standing up for osu by saying it was the trainers decisions and for the safety of the kids.
