For indoor grows, you have to have air flow to simulate outdoor conditions as best as possible. They do this by pulling air in one side of the room, let it flow across the entire area, then vent it back out the other side. Like a breeze outside. Problem is, when you vent out, it carries the pot smell out too.

People will try masking it with dryer sheets, kitty litter, etc....but you just can't cover that much pot smell.

Sure you can. It's called a carbon scrubber. Can be made any size and is easy and cheap. If that is why this guy got busted, he's an idiot. You can't not account for how much smell that was obliviously making. But what would I know about it.:biggrin:
