Man Suspected of Shooting Wife in Ohio Elementary School Found Dead in Home, Police Say


A teacher's husband charged into her fifth-grade classroom Thursday morning, then stabbed and shot her as students watched, police said. He later was found dead in his home after apparently shooting himself during a standoff with police.
The teacher, Christi Layne, was in critical condition at Cabell Huntington Hospital in nearby Huntington, W.Va., a hospital spokeswoman said.

Christi Layne's daughter and son in law are OSU grads and due to have their first child in the next 24 hours. Christi is the sister of the wife of one of my Godsons. This is a crisis of the first order for all of them. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Wow, I'm so rattled I can't think straight, much less write straight. Let's just say that through my Godson I know of this family. This guy just snapped. Do send out thoughts, prayers or positive energy to the families and the kids as everyone is going to need help.

My thoughts are with the families. Hopefully she can enjoy her grandchild-to-be.

Not really. Now no one has to deal with a trial and this POS is dead. Hopefully she can make a recovery
