i was talking to caustic, ive seen you skate...

I play D. My strengths would probably be speed and power, my weakness is in skating (my last skating technique conquest- can backwards crossover right over left but am working on left over right) and positioning. I have only been playing about a year to a year 1/2, but play so much I've developed into a decent player. I've got a mid-80's (conservatively, I believe- I played baseball quite a bit over the years, so I do have a fair knowledge of what mph looks like) slapper and am big enough to get crease respect. I've got good(+) speed for my size on the ice (always one of the faster guys on the ice at 260#). If we could hit, I'd say Scottie Stevens, but we play non-contact. I miss the contact from football. I don't know who I'd say I play like- Pronger size, Gonchar grit?

How about you?

If you're ever looking to play, let me know. We've got a real laid back group that plays on Saturday nights. All skill levels, no one takes it too seriously (just for fun). God, I love playing ice hockey.

i only play shinny a time or two each year. just to be honest i prob wont take you up on your offer, just due to family work and what not. im a big guy at 6'7 so the joke is me being pronger, though from time to time i get the lindros (circa oshawa generals day) jokes when i play the pivot. being an ohio boy i didnt play growing up, i picked it up in college with a buddy of mine in upstate ny. we used to spend pretty much all winter break, his dad paid us to work during the day at his construction company and hockey and fun all night.

at 260 not much must go through you!

its a great sport and playing it, even if its shinny, drop in what not gives you a real respect for the big boys.

You said it... I wish I could've played when we were younger. I've yet to play true pond hockey, so one of these days I'd like to take a trip up to the Labatt Tourney and play some pond hockey. Looks like fun. I am about 6'4" (6'6"-7" on skates ) so I guess every player who is tall is named Chara or Pronger. :)

If you ever get the itch and some free time, let me know. I run a couple of teams and we're laid back in our approach, so if we have a spot and you want to play I'll see what we've got.

Imagine doing what you did last weekend every week (indoors of course)!
