Looks like the Bucks are getting PLENTY of love in the pre-season polls. We are the only team to be rated in the top 3 of every poll I've listed. I know there's another poll out there that had the Bucks ranked at #5, but for the life of me I can't find it or remember what it is. Any other polls out there that I'm missing ... please add to the list.

Going to Kent State you get used to having your football program overlooked (mostely deserved). I don't care I love my Golden Flashes. And besides which playing for Kent can be excellent prep for the NFL. Our QB Cribbs would never have gotten as rattled as Dorsey did during the Fiesta Bowl. He's pretty used to getting hit. My personal opinion is that he'll make some noise when he goes pro.

9/14/ rankings

What do you think do we drop or remain at #3.
I'm not sure.. don't really care. winning takes of the polls but I am curious to what you guys think and why.

My guess is we stay the same. But if scUM keeps whippin on ND and USC puts up big numbers on Hawaii they could move to #3 and #4 push us down to #5. Unlikely, yes but the voters have'nt out much confidence in tOSU in the past. The media just seems to be waiting for us to implode.

I thought about this, and couldn't make up my mind. I can see us staying, I can see us dropping 1, I can see dropping 2.

Ultimately I decided I just don't care. If we keep scraping wins out, we'll *probably* be 1 or 2 in the end.

If scUM keeps winning pretty, then us beating them in the end will go a long way.

As long as they continue to win the rankings will all work out in the end, just like last year.

I guess I could look it up, however it would take forever... what is our current rank in the two polls?

I'm on vacation (have been for over a week now) and just got the stinkin' dial-up to work on a borrowed laptop.

Hey C-dog, We're down in FL, and drove through Jacksonville (I think that is the city you currently live in)... very nice city!! With all the rivers and the bay, that is a great downtown!! The traffic was dense, and my wife about killed me as I weaved in and out of cars going much faster than the traffic (we just bought her a new car, and took it down for the vacation, so I've been having fun with it while I can drive it :wink2: ).

At any rate, I just about had a heart attack during the NCSU game... when Holmes fumbled the ball in the fourth on that punt, I told my wife to hang on because things are about to get dicey (sp?), and sure enough it got dicey...

I checked into B-nuts yeasterday and things seemed normal (I anticipated the computerbucks of the world comming out of the wood work screaming that the sky was falling) to my surprise...

I'll be on the road heading back to C-town this weekend, so I'll miss the game, Hopefully this one will not be close.

Oh, and for the record, I didn't wear my usual OSU gear for SDSU or NCSU games... put the blame on the bucks on me, I'll wear my stuff on Sat. on the ride up, so hopefully things will be secure much earlier than those two :wink2:

Oh, and everything is good down here, you wouldn't even know there was a huricane if the news didn't keep talking about it... the weather has been great (and surprisingly the golf as well), the beach is fun (except the wind the last two days), and the seafood is very good!!

Could we be?

After the outcome of the games yesterday we should move up to #3 in both polls. This change alone could put us at only .95 behind USC in the BCS standings. Once you figure in the computers and SOS you never no. One down two to go.

Buckskin, the coaches poll has us at #4...haven't seen the AP one yet (neither CNNSI.com nor ESPN.com had the new AP poll up just a few seconds ago).

We just need to win out, and with the rankings of our two remaining opponents (#10 Purdue and #5 Michigan), we'll be just fine.

Could Ohio State jump USC in the BCS Standings if the Trojans remain No. 2 in the polls?
There is a chance. Obviously, the Buckeyes would need to reach No. 3 in the polls to give themselves the best shot to make this happen. That means they need LSU to either lose or play poorly, so they can climb over the Tigers in both polls. If OSU can reach No. 3, it would have a one-point deficit to USC in average poll ranking that would need to be overcome through the other elements of the BCS formula. About half of that would probably be made up through schedule strength alone, meaning that the Buckeyes could close the deal by having a computer average that is nearly a point better than that of the Trojans. It is not likely that either team will finish with much of a quality-win bonus, but USC could get enough of a boost from Washington State (if the Cougars win out) to make this scenario more difficult for OSU to accomplish.

Unlike Ohio State, LSU's schedule and computer rankings are not strong enough to help it leapfrog USC from No. 3 in the polls. The Tigers need to reach No. 2 in both
