I would have went with Ricky Williams, because eventhough Dennis Rodman and Mike Tyson did some strange things, nobody can beat turning down a multi-million dollar contract because he couldn't smoke marijuana and play football at the same time. That is beyond weird, but that is only one [considerably large] account. Dennis Rodman use to wear dresses, put on make-up, kick cameramen, and paint his head different colors, but he isn't the weirdest to me.

I think Mike Tyson is the most strangest athlete in professional sports. He was a multi-millionare, had everything he could ever want, but his attitude and personal conflicts in his life destroyed the fighter for good. As someone once described "The rape conviction, the wife abuse, the car crashes", it was all relative to Mike Tyson. Not to mention he's bit an opponents ear, he bit Lewis' bodyguard, threaten to eat a fighters children, he bit/head-butted his last opponent. He use to say his best friend was the birds that he once took care of at his million dollar estate (that 50 Cent now owns). That's strange.

Strange -- but in a kinder and more stupid way.

my vote goes to Rick Ankiel and Chuck Knoblock who for somereason all of a sudden could not throw to Home plate or 1st base respectivley. No big deal for most people except they were a major league pitcher and 2nd baseman, now thats strange

Hey, Steve Sax had that same problem.

I voted for Desmond just b/c CCI called him a homo.

Tyson to me isn't weird or strange. He is very troubled, but IMO he is a product of his environment.

Rodman...a little weird, but he created his image half way through his career for publicity and money.

I would have to go with somebody like Bill Lee, who is naturally a creep.

How about Mark Frydrich (sp?) the pitcher for the Tigers? He was a nut on the mound.

Golf - Moe Norman At one point in his life, he was nearly autistic. Probably greatest ball striker ever - once said that only he and Ben Hogan would ever vote to play the tournaments at night.

Boxing - who was that guy who had a breakdown and was crying in the ring against Lennox Lewis? Or was it against Riddick bowe?

The boxer you are thinking of is Andrew Gollota (sp)

I coach HS baseball and we have a tall lanky pitcher w/long dark curly hair, I nicknamed him "bird" after Fydrich. He is a weirdo just like Mark. It stuck and now everyone calls him Bird.

Conrad Dobler was pretty odd.

I used to play baseball with a kid who had tourrettes syndrome. He played first base, and whenever anyone got on base he would totally freak them out unintentionally. He would stand over there the entire game talking to himself, making sounds, gestures, and chewing on his glove. When guys got on base they did not know if he was talking to them or not. You could hear guys going back into their dugout saying what the fuck is up with that guy. He was by far the strongest guy on our team, and a good power hitter, but he lived in his own little world when he got out into the field. We could never run any kind of bunt plays on defense or anything with him on first becuase he was never paying attention. We were lucky if he just stayed on the bag and caught the ball. I am pretty sure he ended up playing 1AA College football for YSU. I could not imagine lining up across the line from him.
