I have already made the bacon explosion. It was great. And I voted for it. That Bacon-copia is a cop out, all the porky goodness is outside of the bacon wrap!

I go with the Bacon Explosion. Had it. Loved it. Made with tender loving care by a BBQ grill master that made his own bottle of Cherry Bomb BBQ sauce just for the occasion (and that stuff costs some serious cash to make from scratch, but it is worth every penny) and used fresh butcher-trimmed bacon cut to 1/4" thick. The kind of stuff that runs $7 - $9 a lb. The Explosion I had was done right in every conceivable way. No expense was spared. No shortcuts were taken.

The Bacon-copia pictured, on the other hand, looks like a bunch of pre-processed pork thrown in a $3 disposable pan. It should come with a side of Bronson Arroyo singing "J-T-M!!!!"

About once a month we order a vegetarian pizza with double bacon. Delicious!
Have sometimes wondered what the order-taker thought. Especially if the person taking the order was a vegan* of some kind.

*Vegan = someone from the planet Vega, prime planet of the Vega star system.

Don't see why it wouldn't work. As long as you cook it low and slow. You'd probably want two oven racks in with the explosion on the middle rack and a pan of water on a rack beneath it to keep some moisture in the oven ... I think it'd be lacking something without the smoker though.
