On an embarrassment scale of 1 - 10, this has to rate about a .25. Sure, if it's true, the kid will be in hot water, but it's mild compared to the armed robbery, assault, etc. that these stories usually are about. Now, if he'd sold his playbook on EBay...

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Sooners running back Mossis Madu was charged with misdemeanor DUI by the Cleveland County District Attorney.

The charges were filed against the OU senior early Tuesday morning. Read the Affidavit and find out what made the officer suspicious of Madu's vehicle.

The 22-year-old ran for an average of 9.9 yards receiving last year, making an appearance in six of the Sooners? 13 games.

Iowa State DB Sims charged in credit card case

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State defensive back David Sims has been charged with unauthorized use of a credit card.

The aggravated misdemeanor charge was filed Tuesday by the Story County Attorney's Office. Sims is due in court Aug. 2.

Cyclones coach Paul Rhoads issued a statement saying Sims will face disciplinary action internally. He also says Sims has been relieved of his post as co-captain.

Sims, a senior from Gainesville, Fla., was the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2009 after leading the Cyclones with five interceptions.

Police began investigating when a Des Moines woman reported July 17 that her credit card, which her son had taken to Ames, was stolen. The card was used at several Ames-area businesses. Police searched Sims' apartment last week.

OK State safety Johnson accused of marijuana possession

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State safety Victor Johnson will face a possession of a controlled substance charge in addition to an accusation of obstructing a police officer leveled against him after his weekend arrest.

According to a police report released Wednesday by the university, Johnson was arrested early Saturday morning after police responded to a complaint about a suspicious odor at his apartment.

An affidavit filed by an OSU police officer alleges that Johnson initially refused to let police search his apartment. A bag of marijuana was found after officers obtained a search warrant.

Formal charges were filed late Tuesday against the 20-year-old Johnson.

Johnson is scheduled to appear in court on the charges on Aug. 23, when he is also due for his next hearing on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Johnson has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge.

Oklahoma State football player Blatnick arrested, cited

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State junior defensive end Jamie Blatnick has been cited for felony aggravated assault and battery after a fight with a former OSU offensive lineman at a Stillwater bar.

Police say witnesses told them Blatnick started the fight early Saturday by hitting Stephen Denning in the face with a beer bottle. Police say Denning was treated at a hospital for a fractured orbital socket. He was cited for misdemeanor assault.

No one had been charged as of early Monday.

School spokesman Kevin Klintworth says the university is still gathering information and had no comment.

Denning last played for the Cowboys in 2008.

Former University of Michigan football player sentenced to 19 months to 15 years in prison - AnnArbor.com

A former University of Michigan cornerback convicted in June of committing three thefts and an attempted robbery was sentenced today to a minimum of 19 months in prison.
Boubacar Cissoko, 22, who was kicked off the team in October, pleaded guilty June 23 to assault with intent to rob while unarmed and three counts of larceny from a person, court records show.

Pitt DE Sheard pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- University of Pittsburgh defensive end Jabaal Sheard has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for a fight last month in which he threw a man through an art gallery's glass door.

The senior from Hollywood, Fla., had been charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after he got into a fight in the early morning hours of July 18.

A district judge reduced the charges and ordered Sheard to pay a $300 fine and the other man's medical bills. Sheard also was ordered to apologize.

Police say Sheard refused to stop fighting and had to be pepper sprayed after he threw the man through the door of La Fond Galleries.
Sheard's attorney called the fight unfortunate.

The 21-year-old started all 13 games for the Panthers last season.

Cliff: Big news Monday ? Cliff Kirkpatrick

Tyler Thomas has been kicked off the Oregon State football team, coach Mike Riley said Monday morning.

Thomas, a redshirt freshman offensive lineman, was involved in his second run-in with the law this year.

According to information from the Corvallis Police Department, at about 4:51 a.m., police were called to 519 N.W. 14th Street after a 32-year-old woman reported there was a naked man in the upstairs office of her residence.
When officers arrived, they ordered him to get on the ground several times, but he refused.
Then Thomas, who had reportedly been drinking, got into a ?three-point stance? and lunged at the officers, who Tased him.
