well, again i was talking about ring games, it sounds like you spend most of your time with the sit-n-go's and tourneys, i'm the opposite......i enjoy tourneys, but just choose not to spend my time on them......i'm just trying to say that it (ring games) can be very profitable if you understand the dynamics of it.......i imagine those that lose money consistently online (not that you do) get caught up in the pitfalls too much, it was a problem for me too, that i still battle with but have pretty good control of..........even in 5-8 hours a week, as long as you're not wasting those hours pressing in a cold seat you should be able to win money..........go on for a short period of time and if things aren't really working out, try a few rooms, or just quit and come back, don't press............i can't even tell you how many times i've won 10-20+ big bets in less than fifteen minutes, (20 big bets is $80 in 2-4, $1K in 25-50 for anyone that isn't familiar with the terminology)......you don't necessarily have to catch fire right off the bat, but there are countless times when at worst, i never go down in a room........there is no reason to stay in a seat if i'm losing hand after hand
in other words i just don't waste my time if it's not a profitable room, and i don't sit there forever hovering and waiting for it to turn around, because there are too many times when you can sit down and just start making money right off the bat........if i start losing i try to win it back, but i don't press, i cut my losses if it doesn't turn around pretty quickly........it's been my experience that either you're connecting with the board or you're not, period, either your good hands are holding up or they're not...........and of course it can go from good to bad in a heartbeat, but almost NEVER goes from bad to good...........i can lose X amount of dollars in roomA, or X amount in roomA + roomB, and go to roomC and win back X amount of dollars, and maybe X times 2 or 3, where i would have continued to lose in roomA........obviously if i keep losing in every room i call it quits............i guess playing as many hours as i have online has given me a really good feel for the ebb and flow of the streaks, and that's what i try to capitalize on..........it seems to me that now i can "feel" when i'm gonna start losing and i'm gonna start running cold...........needless to say skill is a major factor in order to capitalize when you're connecting, in buying some pots, and not throw your money away in the wrong situations, but if you're not connecting with the flop and your AA and KK keeps getting cracked, there is nothing you can do about that
this is the system that i've employed and it works very well for me..........for anyone else that plays online significantly, and particularly if you're struggling to make money, maybe you could try to employ some variation of what i've been doing? it certainly works for me...............hope i was able to help
