MistriBuck - ever get a chance to check out pokerchamps.com? I was in on the Gus Hansen $1,500 and was playing him for a bit at my table until we got moved around.... pretty cool.

I like the SNG tables right now....seems to be pretty easy to at least get in the money

I've also made some pretty easy cash on my affiliates that signed up. Nothing better than not playing for a week and getting money put in your account!!!!

Also - Daniel Negreanu is speaking at OSU around the 14th or something...

hey bro, not yet, but at some point i'm sure i will.......i haven't tried too many new sites lately......things have gone EXTREMELY COLD the last 2 months (which for me means breaking even, and that's not bragging, i've been relying on it as income, and breaking even is mucho no bueno).........i didn't think it was possible for things to be statistically absurd for such a long period of time........when things are going well i'm eager to try new sites because i have the bankroll to jump around, but lately i've been really tight..........as soon as things get back on track i'll give it a try

P.S. - you must not have been on this board much lately, i'm now affectionately known as MartyrBuck

Mistri - I know how you feel about running cold. I was running real bad for about 6 months until I finally started winning again. In retrospect, I wasn't playing real bad, I was just catching beat after beat. Cold cards make you start questioning your ability and playing too weak-tight. Not that you need it or asked for it, but just keep playing through it. I have won the last 7 out of 8 sessions, so I am finally breaking through again and my confidence is sky high. Good luck to you!

it really tries your soul when you get bad beat after bad beat, suckout after suckout, or day after day after day of missing flop after flop and draw after draw........and you're very right it changes your game, and you miss some opportunities because you've become so tight and worried about the next bad beat............i know it'll pass, but every day when it's happening all over again, it's hard to believe.........and the worst part for me is the occasional good session mixed in, giving me hope that the clouds have passed, and that i'll finally have a nice little streak to ease the pain, only to run into another week or two of the same crap

i've had days and even a few weeks at a time like this in the past, but i was never prepared for such an extended cold spell..........man 6 months is tough to imagine, i'm nearly halfway there though...........had i known to expect this, i would have been a little more protective of my winnings when things were going extremely well...........it really puts things into perspective

Mistri - just remember that you WANT people to try to keep sucking out on you. In the long run, you will win. If the cards run bad, congratulate the sucker and say something like "nice hand" or "good play". Do not start playing weak-tight as that is the worst thing you can do. Keep playing "your game". The cards will eventually turn for the better. By the way, those 6 months were brutal. It felt like years...

PS - don't take this advice like I am trying to lecture you. I'm sure you know all of this. I just wanted to give you my perspective since I recently went through cold card and it really sucks...

ahhhhh, yes, the "Tao of Poker".........you're right, i do know this stuff, i don't feel like you're lecturing, just concurring............the human soul only has so much tolerance for that stuff though man!........6 months still boggles my mind, i'm glad to hear that it turned around for you..............by the way my AA all-in before the flop got beat by KK last night, i just braced myself for that K on the river, and sure enough there it was

about telling the fishies "nice hand", i hate it when pompous asses like to point out the mistakes to everybody, which in some cases will only make these guys realize what they're doing wrong, and in turn makes it harder for the skilled players to make money off of them

I remember during my cold streak being dealt AA on the button and the BB raised me all in. I called and he flipped over KK and I proceeded to lose to a flush. It was over a $300 pot. That was rock bottom for me...

hey Buckstock, look what you started man!!!!!!

Matz, mine was very similar last night, almost $300, thankfully i was only playing $2NL, where I usually play $4-$5 when I'm playing NL..........i've been laying low and playing limits way below my usual lately, and it's so aggravating to stagnate at those limits, although i know i can't risk the higher limits with the way i've been running............i sweat losing in one night what i would usually not even blink an eye losing in one hand

ok, enough negative energy for this thread, lets kill this thing, and the next time we talk about poker on this board, we talk about how things have returned to normal and how we're killing the game, deal?
