Clarity offered an explaination earlier.. I think it was in the administrative forum. If I recall, its something of a google search that finds you. Like, if you're a dig user, you enter keywords of things that interest you, and then if someone links a thread to dig, and it matches, it shows up on someone elses list of things they're interested in.
Not sure if I'm getting that right.

I think it allows you to 'archive' a thread for you to refer to later using one of those services.

I use Digg.com. It's a neat news site where users submit articles/web links that they find interesting, then other users "digg it" if they are interested in it, or "bury it" if they think it is lame. You can search users and see who diggs what, as well as search news articles based on topics. It's a neat experiment in social networking. Since users submit the articles, rather than computers like google news, you can find some neat stuff. Go to www.digg.com and search my username (r0ck3tm4nn) and you can see what I "dugg."
EDIT: I should add that the articles that end up on the front page are the ones that are popular for the moment, in the sense they gain the most diggs in a short period of time.
