Home's out. It's neat that it just shows up as a new XMB icon after logging into the PSN. The download is 77Mb. It went slow, but it eventually finished, so I got it installed. The full install footprint is over 3Gb with reserved space.

Can't login though. I'm getting a "Reqeust timed out /hubps3_svml/unity/start.jsp" error.

On one of the old firmware updates - the Home icon appeared on my XMB for a few hours.. then went away. It wouldn't let me do anything.. but I wondered why it was there and gone.

Must have been there the entire time waiting for Sony to unlock it..

The servers are probably slammed.. I'm not even going to try and download it tonight..

After some SOCOM last night I downloaded it (in about 2 minutes) and launched it..

I made my dude, have a pretty sweet mullet and handlebar stache.. meet up with one of my buddies and bowled.

Some chick was complementing him (she bowled with us) the entire time.. we walked around and were making fun of people when I noticed she was standing right behind him.

Fucking creepy.

Funny.

But creepy.

Home isn't bad - I'll wait for the SOCOM room before I really use it..

This may make me use Home.. I wonder if you can bet with real money.. would love it.

Doubt it, but I wonder if I can transfer my BP Vcash for PS3 Casino cash?

But I can see them doing a virtual point system where so many points can get you something for your online 'character' The only thing missing would be virtual hookers and pimps and people trying to steal the virtual cash from gamblers... Oh the fun one could have

My guess is it'll be a casual affair to play some Hold'em with your friends. At least, I can't imagine EA wants to get into the online casino racket.

Somebody else might do it, if Sony allowed it, and they'd probably make a killing ... but I have a hard time believing it'll be EA.

It wouldn't be up to Sony. The US government would come down hard and fast on Sony if they would set that up.
