South Carolina junior wide receiver Alshon Jeffery said Thursday that he is declaring for the NFL draft.

South Carolina junior cornerback Stephon Gilmore also will enter the draft, a source said Thursday. Gilmore had an interception and five tackles in the Gamecocks' 30-13 victory over Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl.

Arizona State's Vontaze Burfict to forgo senior season for NFL
Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict says he'll skip his senior season and make himself eligible for the NFL draft.

Burfict made the announcement Tuesday in a one-paragraph statement. He thanked his coaches and professors and added that he plans to return to school in the future to get his degree.

The 6-foot-3 Burfict was the Sun Devils' second-leading tackler this season with 69, including seven for losses. He also had an interception and fumble recovery.

Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox is skipping his senior season and declaring for the N.F.L. draft. Cox is considered one of the country?s best defensive line prospects and is projected by N.F.L. evaluators as a second-round pick, though some analysts believe he could be selected late in the first round.

San Diego State sophomore RB Ronnie Hillman said he will be declaring for the 2012 NFL draft after recently receiving feedback from the NFL that said he could be selected around the third round in April's draft if he left school early.

I expected the Hillman decision. Lindley is gone so the play-action game will take a hit. It will be difficult to duplicate the offense's recent success. A 3rd round grade is pretty good to start a career. Thanks for the awesomeness!

I guess he could possibly move into the 2nd round, but it's hard to imagine him having a better year than he did this year. I tend to think mid-to-late 2nd round is his ceiling, and I doubt he'll ever be a feature back.
