Too soon old, too late smart
Folks, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.....yes OSU is taking publicity hits from ESPiN, the newspapers, and the NCAA, and [Mark May]...but these transfers are anticipated each year. The fact that they are happening now is more coincidental than a result of the investigation and possible sanctions.
Kids looking at the depth chart above them, and the incoming freshmen below them, and by now have guaged how well they stack up against either will look around for some 'greener grass'. It's possible they can avoid a year not playing football if they can transfer from a program under sanctions, but I'm certain they are looking at going their sophomore year, sitting out a year from competition, and then having two years, junior and senior, to make their 'mark' on the field.
Finally, there are some other kids on the roster that are sophomores this year that indeed may transfer if certain kids are starting ahead of them. Again, that is expected, and each kid wants to play, so they'll look elsewhere. No different at Texas, Florida, or ?. Let's not get our underwear in a bunch because some of the kids are leaving. Some of these transfers won't make sense to us civilians, but do to the insiders. In the doghouse, sitting behind someone in your class or less, not having grades, or just knowing in your heart that you're not better than those playing your position are valid reasons to look to transfer. Has already happened, and always will. Let's not be surprised, and 'pile on' with the bull [Mark May] stuff that's happening. It's an opportune time for some of them to make a new start. Wish them well, and focus our attention on those who want to be Buckeyes.....
