Nice to move to 13 games over .500 but who knows who will start tomorrow's game since Wandy had to pitch today. But he did get his first win as a Pirate. :pirate1:

So here we are almost 5 months later and the Bucs sit currently at 68-60. They were 48-37 at the AS break so that makes them 20-23 since then as reality has set in on some of their marginal players, and their luck with avoiding injuries has run out as well.

They have to go 14-20 the rest of the way to finally end the streak. At this point, that's not a sure thing. Technically, they're still in the wild card race but the fact is St. Louis, Los Angeles, and Atlanta are better teams. It's really about finishing over .500 at this point.

Bucs dropped the first game 4-3 then kicked the crap out of the Cardinals, 9-0 and 5-0 to move to 70-60 on the season. :pirate1:

Possibly the worst baseball game I've ever seen:

7 errors

That's how you lose by 10 runs to a garbage team like the Cubs, at home. :shake:

The Bucs completed a pathetic weekend by getting swept at home by the Cubs and are limping to the finish line, clinging to hopes of a .500 season for the first time in two decades.

But this morning a co-worker, presumably hungover after staying up and waving his terrible towel in defeat last night, informed me that he was buying playoff tickets for the Pirates today. My response went something like this:

Brandon Phillips is a helluva ball player, but pretty much a dick otherwise. That said, the Bucs might want to actually win a few more games before the season is over. :ohwell:

went to Sat game vs the Cubs. Fans were HEAVY. Being that it looked like SHIT alllllll day long. (rain and chilly) But that place wast packed. Lots of some sort of "z" with thumbs tshirts. I dont get it or even care to know where it comes from with a team that hasn't and wont make the playoffs for a looooooooooong time. Not enough o's. I AM glad to see some excitement in the town with a very nice park. They do KILL you on the local flavor with overpriced Primantis and Quaker Steak. Iron city beer is fucking disgusting. Only park I could buy my ticket 2 hr's before first pitch with all the scalpers at a kiosk for $12. was worth it.
