Piece together the Buckeye season!

H.G.Wells wrote "War of the Worlds" and "The Time Machine." Let’s say we took that time machine and stepped into the future. We suddenly found it was Dec. 20th, 2005. Looking down on the kitchen table you find the program of the OSU-Mich***n game. Inside it has all the Buckeye stats and reviews of each player leading up to that game. What would be stats and glowing reviews of our starting players? Any surprise starters? Try to keep it realistic as possible! I will start the first one:

LT Alex Boone 6-8/296 -

Saw spot duty in his first three games, and then started at left tackle in the Iowa game. This allowed Rob Sims to move left guard opening up the OSU rushing attack and its first thousand yard rusher since Maurice Clarett"s 1,237 yards in the 2002 season. Alex has only allowed 2 sacks and has improved in each game this season. As well as his pass blocking has been it’s his run blocking that has drawn rave reviews. Asked if he was surprised in starting his first year as a freshman. Alex responded,"I can’t say I was surprised. With the support I have had here from the coaches and my teammates. They have really helped so much in what we have achieved this year."

Agree on Boone, maybe not game four though.

Eventually the 2005 starting OL could very well be:

LT Boone
LG Sims
OC Cordle
RG Mangold
RT Barton

With Rehring backing up at either tackle spot, Person, Mitchum, and Skinner being in the two-deep on the inside. Datish, Downing, and the rest will have a tough time staying in the two-deep.

Jamario O'Neal. I think this kid has serious potential at corner... and by midseason (with the big 3 tests other than Michigan out of the way) he could be starting opposite Youboty. It seems you can never have too many glenville kids on the field...

Dukes will be our #4 WR by the Michigan game... Lyons will give us a big WR option as our other #4 WR. Hall will play as well, but Dukes is clearly a special player and will breakout once he matures as a wr. Imagine the matchup problems with Dukes on their #4 CB, not to mention Ginn, Holmes and Gonzo all running routes with single coverage.

This is only going to make it easy for the QB draws that Tressel loves so mch...

Ditto what JWins said - Cordle was very impressive, Mangold could make the move, and no one has locked down the RG spot.

Ohio State has a very interersting situation on the o-line this year - two very solid seniors (Sims and Mangold) who are seasoned and versatile and will definitely start somewhere; seven youngsters (Barton, Rehring, Person, Mitchum, Skinner, Boone, and Cordle) who appear to have real talent and plenty of upside, and who will form the core of the OL for the next 3-4 years; a few veterans (Datish, Downing, Tyree, and possibly Schafer) who have been given their chances and not really shown much; and a whole slew of walk-ons, one of whom might emerge at some point (and JT does give those guys a chance to win a position). I think that the staff will try to give the youngsters every opportunity to earn starting positions, hoping to win with the youngsters this year while building for the future. JMHO.

Don't mean to BURST anyone's BUBBLE but this...

is the kind of shit that cracks me up! Do people really take this shit so seriously that all they can do is make up shit in a fantasy world? God! Don't we have better and more constructive things to do that this? Sad!

Harsh, Hayan. Harsh.

It's the off season, but it's close enough that Football is coming to the fore again, people are jonesin - gotta talk about something. It's an alternative way of discussing what you think might occur this year - I see nothing wrong with being creative in your preseason predictions.

Have you been away from Cbus for so long that you forget how Football is king round here? We had a HS all star game last weekend, and that means one thing... FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!

Come on Hawaiian are we that serious here? Or bored awaiting the up coming season. I want to talk football and I'm just trying to be a little creative with the tongue in cheek of course! The only thing most of us have to do now is make preseason predictions. What would be your prediction on Ginn, Hawk, or a Huston? Alright I'll give out another, feel free to criticize:

Bobby Carpenter 6-3/255-

Bobby's season took right off from where he was playing last season with on exception. "They have let me loose this year, I'm blitzing more and that adds a dimension to this defense." Bobby surpassed his tackles for loss this year recording 9 for 35 yards. On top of that his tackle total has tied his mark of last year with 93. Blitzing more has allowed Bobby free range into the backfield where he has forced three fumbles with the Bucks recovering two.

By the way thanks Deety.
Sandgk go ahead make a prediction on that D-line...Worthington maybe...

What are we supposed to do? Talk about who's going to win the job at punter? I mean, like who gives a flying crap about the punter? They aren't even real football players, for chrissakes....
Are you kidding? The Ohio State punter is one of the most important positions in Tresselball.
